(3/7) In 2 days, I will be graduating from the Illustrious North Carolina Central University with my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. 🎓❤️🦅

Although I always knew I wanted to make a difference, it wasn’t until I came to NCCU that I discovered exactly what that difference would look like. Throughout my studies, I learned that juveniles who enter the justice system after a first offense are significantly more likely to reoffend when they lack proper guidance, support, and access to resources. That reality shifted my perspective and strengthened my purpose.

My passion is rooted in changing the narrative for children who may feel overlooked, misunderstood, or defined by one mistake. I want to be someone who gives them hope, guidance, and a different outlook on life, while providing the tools and resources they need to become better versions of themselves. Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in them before they learn to believe in themselves.

With that being said, I am beyond grateful to share that I will be continuing my education right here where it all started, pursuing my Master’s in Social Work at North Carolina Central University. ❤️

The journey continues…. 📝

In just three days, I’ll cross the stage at my illustrious HBCU… ✨🎓

To my 1910, thank you for the wisdom, the guidance, and the vision you poured into me on those sloping hills and verdant green.

This journey was far from easy — the long nights, the early mornings, the moments I wondered if I could really do this. Yet somehow, every cafe conversation, every quiet walk across campus, and every late-night study session became part of the story that carried me here.

I came here unsure of everything. I’m leaving knowing I can have anything.

B.S. Criminal Justice Loading. With gratitude and love ~Lani 🥺🫶🏽
