HUGE shout out to Rad girl Syd for throwing down hits of encouragement through Strava almost simultaneously after each rep on a 12x400 workout at Rotary tonight. With 88-90 degree heat index and a long day, that was so appreciated. Made those last two hellions not seem so hard (and alone). Thanks Lady!

Afterwards, I caught up with Mr. Hottman showing his umpire skills and a future runner for us taking over 3rd base at tonight’s baseball game. I also highly recommend Waunakee’s Music in the Park, it made for nice background music!

Next up in our Senior Notes... Miss "Sunshine" Syd. Two years ago, I inadvertently jotted Syd down as a senior after she was sidelined due to injury and then blew up in excitement to learn she was a junior and we were going to get her for another year! (Quite frankly, I'm not sure how I made that mistake, but this team was lucky to rope her in for another season!)

One of the positive forces during tough workouts and meets, and she was an underlying calmness and supportive figure on the line for our girls team. "All in" on her races, she hammered through each one of them with her version of the "Warrior" stamp and followed up with shout outs to her teammates. One of our coaches remarked, "That girl just puts EVERYTHING into her races."

She's the real deal folks. Competitive. Determined. Rock solid dependable. Team player. Team leader. All great attributes that are going to take her well beyond her last four (or five) years with us!
