The last month was the BEST emotional roller coaster ride of my life! It started with Maggie, as Donna in Mama Mia; as I beamed in disbelief at her talent for every show, I couldn't get enough. She was honored with 2 Student of the Year awards at the awards ceremony. Then the last school Prom, where she was stunning. On award night, she shone after she had worked so hard all year, essay after essay, applying for scholarships. At graduation, she spoke with elegance, confidence, and messaging that only a mature leader could provide. As her year as ASB president ended, she accomplished everything she wanted to give to NHHS and took away skills she would have for a lifetime.
Between all that, we went to a gorgeous wedding in Tulsa and got to be with Molly's Oklahoma family. We got 3 visits with Molly in the past 6 weeks but had to send her back to Kansas today. My best friend came to town for the weekend to celebrate Maggie, but she had to leave today too. Unky Dan, who is 94, with lots of help and love from Aunt Jill, got to see the play, come to the grad party, and watch graduation on the Ipad. I got to see my Mom, who had knee surgery in Texas, and my sister and I got 2 visits in a month. Lastly, I celebrated a lot with all of Maggie's friends and their parents, who made the last 4 years as a high school parent amazing. My business partner and, more importantly, amazing friend got an exciting new client this month – and she is the happiest I have ever seen her in her personal life. Tk and his girlfriend Ashley celebrated a year of happiness together this week. Had the most fun “Orange” party to celebrate Maggie. What else can I say except I am so proud of the kids Marty and I raised – and can proudly say we are a Purple (K-State), Red (OU), and Orange (UTK) family! I am getting off the emotional roller coaster for now, and I am never sure I will have a month like this again – but I am not sure I ever want one!
