We are so excited to welcome our first acting coach to TYC!

Sylvia Kolb was born and raised in and around NYC where she started dancing at age 4. Shortly after, she began performing in musicals, finding her love of acting. She has performed professionally around the country in LA, NYC, and regional theater productions, including the LA Fringe Festival. At iO West she performed on main stage improv and sketch teams. She has also been seen nationally in commercials, along with television and film.

She’s a graduate of CAP21 Conservatory and has studied improv and acting at iO West and HB Studio. She was awarded a scholarship to Manhattan School of Music’s Summer Voice Festival and has studied with teachers Ann Dowd, Alex Gemignani, David Hibbard, Larry Arancio, and many others.

Sylvia is thrilled to join the TYC faculty and help young dancers build their confidence as actors, whether they’re performing dance, music, or text.

I look at these breathtaking photos by artist @jameslesterphoto and see so clearly what I felt that day: joy radiating out like sun beams. It still nearly knocks me over to think about all the love. You know when you’re a little kid and you cook up some grand imaginative scene and you somehow convince all the other neighborhood kids to play pretend with you inside the big colorful world you created? That’s how the wedding felt. Thank you to our friends and family for playing with us. We love you so much.

For national photography day I thought I'd post this memory to the grid!
Captured by my favorites @imageisfound

This was one of my favorite moments of our wedding. After our ceremony our wedding party gathered on the side of the boat. There was so much tears and laughter and release and celebration. I'm so thankful to our wedding party for being so present and giving and I'm so thankful to Nate and Jaclyn for capturing this moment exactly how I remember it.🩷

A perfect weekend for a perfect Madonna Inn Wedding for a perfect couple.

When I asked Kelsey for her autograph on the back of the school bus in elementary school I couldn't know that I'd attend her wedding someday. What I did know is that she's magnetic. I'm so happy our magnets found our way back to each other in this all too small world. And so honored to watch you marry your best friend and share your love and light so openly 🩷

So much perfect pink love with friends 🏩💕💖💗💓🩷💞💝🫀

So happy to know you as an adult, @kelseygoeres !!! And sooooo thankful I got your autograph on the bus a full 25 years ago.
