Day 5, the last night of @vanfashionweek SS27, finished with a bang. I chose Celebration for the music as this season was the 25th anniversary. The shows were inspiring, offering everything from streetwear to couture. Designers included @baharkianpour @pattern.nation @claireupcycled @jaqke.austdone @bgktangerine @_.xoa.__ @shima.asrii @btm.project @fukai_fukufuku. The evening concluded with a heartfelt tribute to founder @jamalabdourahman. It has been an honor to serve as media for VFW for 19 years - missing only 2 seasons out of the 38. I love attending each season and made connections around the globe. Here’s to the next 25.

Yesterday was the opening night for @vanfashionweek SS27, and as always it was full of excitement and energy. We all connected with friends we haven't seen in a while, and embraced exciting new connections. First up was the Industy awards. Congrats to the many winners. Then we were treated to 2 fab runways shows - @richardwei.ca and @brunettethelabel. I have final walkthroughs for both. Sadly I got caught up in the frenzy and forgot to take many candids of my own. Thanks to @jandrewspeaks for letting me use 3 of his candids (he and I, he and @ctsoukalas , and @symonesays68 and I), and to @randall_fabulista for the final photo of us having a cocktail after.

Today is International Drag Day! As a former “drag wrangler”, I’m sending mad love to these exquisitely talented peeps! ✨💎🔥

Today shines a spotlight on the artistry, performance and cultural significance of drag across many communities.
It celebrates the many contributions of drag queens, drag kings and gender non-conforming performers whose varied talents have provided entertainment, activism and fundraising for decades.
🏳️‍🌈🙏💎

(Video source unknown. Drag show in San Francisco circa 1960’s.)
