Visually it is meykhana, but audio-wise it is hip-hop: Vals-Boston Amal’ and Drek have released their new brand new collab with a music video packed with references to 2010s meykhana gatherings. We’ve put together some of the references you might have missed in the track that immediately made its way onto our playlist. #Raperican #Amal #Drek #SynapsRecords Credits: Amal’ x Drek - Vals-Boston Me Against The World and GOAT Although it literally translates to “me against the world,” this is the title of 2Pac’s third studio album as well. The word GOAT used in the following line, meaning “Greatest of All Time,” also translates to “goat” from English. Amal’ cleverly draws a distinction between the grass eaten by goats and the “grass” rappers use. Qafiya-Mafiya Elşad Xose, Anar Nağılbaz and Dəyirman released their collaborations in the 2000s under the name of Qafiya-Mafiya. One of the projects they released as a diss was “Sous,” and the Synaps artists bring that same level of aggression to “Vals-Boston.” Credits: Amal’ x Drek - Vals-Boston Dünən, Bu Gün, Sabah Drek states that their label Synaps Records represents “the yesterday, today and tomorrow” of Azerbaijani hip-hop. There’s no denying Synaps’ contribution to AzRap since the early 2010s, but the artist doesn’t stop there. He also subtly references his 2019 track “Dünən, Bu Gün, Sabah.” Pisa Tower and the movie “Böyük Dayaq” Pisa Tower stands out from other landmarks with its distinctive appearance. Comparing AzRap to a collapsing tower, Drek draws a parallel between his Synaps circle and the 1962 film “Böyük Dayaq.” The Flora Kərimova sample used on the duo’s “Gec Qayıtmaram” comes from the soundtrack of this very film. Interesting, huh? 👀 Redman & Method Man Drek’s reference to Redman & Method Man is no coincidence at all. In his collaborations with Amal’, the artist compares the two of them to Method Man and Redman, one of the greatest duos of the ’90s. To date, the Red and Meth have released their “Blackout!” album series in two parts. Perhaps we’re not far from seeing a duo album from the Synaps artists as well. 🤔 p = m × v Time to remember the formula from physics. The formula represent

⏳ ENG: In today’s rap scene, it has become increasingly rare to find two artists who complement each other’s energy so well. However, there is one duo whose every collab released so far stands out for its uniqueness. Of course, we’re talking about Synaps Records artists: Drek and Amal’. 🔥 After unleashing the soundtrack “Gec Qayıtmaram” from “Mikrorayon” TV Show earlier this year, followed by their “Tuk-Tuk” joint, the duo wants to continue this spark with a third project. The new single, set to be released on September 18, will arrive alongside a music video. ⏳ #Raperican #Drek #Amal #SynapsRecords
