We pulled it off.

The crash sequence came together literally at the last minute. Rain rigs, projection, a real semi, two identical cars, a bridge rebuilt from 1989 accident photos: every piece landed later than anyone wanted and exactly when it needed to. Watching the finished sequence, you would never guess.

Last minute is not the same as unprepared. Preparation is what makes the last minute survivable.

Everything you read about creative work says to sit with your doubt. Film scoring does not give you that option.

We asked Hannah Parrott if she ever hit the "what am I doing" moment. Her answer: the timelines do not really allow for it. You just have to do it. "And thankfully, I have wonderful collaborators."

Deadlines are not always the enemy of art. Sometimes they are the cure for doubt.

The voices you hear in this scene are close to fifty years old.

This is one of the patients Dr. Michael Sabom interviewed, and the audio is the original tape. We rebuilt the room and cast the scene, but the testimony itself is untouched. Meanwhile, second unit captured tabletop close-ups of paintings of heaven and the original research.

When the real thing exists, use the real thing.

“As we begin to wind that clock backwards… eventually you’re going to get to a place where all of that expanding material would have congealed in the same place, marking the beginning of the expansion and the beginning of the universe itself.”

Today, there are many powerful voices in our culture telling us that science undermines belief in any intelligent or purposeful creator behind the universe. The things that we hold dear, including our very existence, are in a cosmic accident.

Has the universe always existed — or did it have a beginning?

In The Story of Everything, we journey across cosmic history, from the birth of stars to the intricate code within living cells, examining whether the universe is self-existing or points beyond itself. This cinematic exploration unpacks the laws that govern galaxies, the structure of DNA, and the remarkable order woven into nature — asking if these patterns are random, or evidence of something deeper.

If you’ve ever wrestled with questions of origin, design, and ultimate meaning, this film invites you to think again — and think deeper.

In Theaters April 30th.

I don't need to find God's will in this moment and these circumstances, because this moment and these circumstances are God's will for me.
