Match report: Streatham Vale 4-5 Southside FC

ARIF HAT-TRICK LEADS SOUTHSIDE TO OPENING-DAY VICTORY! 🔥

The Southside Boys got their season off to the perfect start with an emphatic opening-day victory, with five goals shared between three different scorers!!!

And leading the charge was Arif Bala. ⭐

⏱️ 2’ — ARIF BALA!

What a start.

Inside the opening two minutes, Arif’s first touch set him on his way through on goal with only the keeper to beat and showed immense composure by scoring in the game’s first big chance and giving Southside the ideal start in this game!!! A big summer move to Ashford Town hasn’t dampened his confidence, the defence just don’t know what to do with him!!!

Southside in the opening 20 minutes have been unbelievable, racing into a 3-0 lead, could we see a similar start that the Germans had in the 2014 World Cup when it was 5-0 at half time? The defending champions Streatham Vale just haven’t got going yet in this game, they look shellshocked by this performance by Southside!!!

Complacency started to slowly creep in & the Streatham side punished them to get a goal back & they woke up, looked more like themselves and had opportunities to get a few more goals in before half time!!

Second half started & Arif continued to look lively and was in the mood to get a hat-trick on the opening game of the season & he certainly got his wish, what a day, what a player!!! His work rate proved vital as he won a penalty kick for his side which SY coolly slotted in to make it 5-2 after Streatham initially halved the deficit!!!

First game jitters started to become more evident and it became the catalyst in Streatham sparking a late comeback when they made the score line very interesting at 5-4!! Throwing the kitchen sink, every blade of grass, every touch, every pass in the last few minutes provided to be vital!!!

FULL TIME. 🥶🔥

SOUTHSIDE FC 5–4

An opening-day thriller ends in victory for the Southside Boys but they certainly made us sweat for it!!!

Arif Bala with a sensational hat-trick, joined on the scoresheet by SY and Kaylon as Southside raced into a commanding position!!!

Three points, 9 goals & plenty of drama!!!

UTSS!!!💙🤍

Thankfully Arsenal weren’t eligible for the big boy table. Shoutout PSG.
