Home is where your name sits like a prayer. Where the tongue finds the placement and the words sound like they’ve always belonged. It is in the middle of laughter and silence. It is warm. It is encompassing. It is chosen.

There is so much goodness in finding home. Knowing that the people and place fit together like worn leather gloves. Like your foot in fresh packed snow. Like the smile of a morning sunrise.

I will write love poems to you home. I’ll sing to you. Dream and reminisce. I’ll whisper your name to strangers. Tell lovers that it has always been you. Home may the word never love it’s place in my throat. May I choke at the idea of you. Finding joy in your moments.

Perfection is not real. Striving for it is exhausting. You let me be. As I am.

Reliving the summer of my life. Summer 2021 was a reset into what it means to be truly happy. I could not ask for a better family. I miss them so much already. Can’t wait to cause trouble all over again soon.
