As a fam/framily we sent our boy off to his new career!! He’s covered, loved and valued! He has over 16 handwritten notes from his loved ones to carry him through this journey! We’re so proud! As his parents it’s been a joy to walk with him through each milestone! From celebrating his college acceptance to celebrating his new grown man career! Since he was 10 he’s wanted to be one thing and one thing only! We geared his life towards his dream, from his HS jobs, to college selection we were focused on his dream! It got hairy but we never wavered. Our job was to lead him into his future, his junior year I set him up with his own credit card so he could establish credit, (he’s had a bank account for years) we’ve got him an appt with a financial advisor so as he goes into these adult years he’s as prepared as he can be! He walked on to a lot yesterday and picked a car of his dreams! While they were looking at me to make choices I was looking at him, they pulled his credit and his career offer letter and had to adjust their tone It’s BIG Taye not the lil one lol! He setting up his own insurance and establishing his life! Parents lead your children into their future! Walk with them! Pray for them! Communicate early your vision then help them establish their own! There’s no perfect way to parent but it must be intentional! Set goals early! Have conversations regularly! Establish trust through open dialogue and communication! Family meetings! Family assessment (if you’d like the guide holla at me!)Find resources for the weaknesses you have but DONT shrink your voice in their life! Trust God, lead with love and allow the seeds planted to sprout! Congrats Taye you’re becoming the man of your dreams!! 😭🥹🥹 #bibb5

To my ridaaas,

Not all of you are pictured, but I’m addressing each and every one of you when I say this: there would be no Jaysolin at Howard without y’all. I can’t imagine a single timeline where we weren’t all here together. You all mean so much more to me than you’ll ever know.

For some of you, I met freshman year and we were able to stay locked in through the most uncanny four years of my life. And throughout those years, I met even more people who I just instantly connected with. We’ve jumped from friend groups to classes to special events and through it all, we made it to the end together.

I realized I never told you guys goodbye because I didn’t want to. I don’t want to finalize our friendship at the Mecca and only be left with memories. I want to make new ones with all of you as we continue to grow in our journeys. I like “see you later” better because it fits; Because I no longer consider any of you friends. Y’all are my herd. The Bison family I will forever hold close to my heart. And I will see you again.

He said Mom you didn’t take me out for my birthday! What he left out was that he left days before his birthday and didn’t come back til Labor Day! 😒 but I took him to breakfast this morning lol 😘
