POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
For episode 97 I’m joined by Queen of the Dancefloor turned wellness warrior, it’s @djgoldierocks ! I can’t believe I actually had the audacity to invite today’s guest to my humble podcast because she is a woman far more accustomed to DJing on super yachts for the likes of The Jaggers, Richard Branson or Kate Moss Sam has had a WILD and very uniqiue life, so it was never in doubt that she would be loads of fun on the show. We talk all about how she went from freelancing at the NME and playing Nu Rave parties to DJing in Libya and the The 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony. But of course there’s the album and she chose a BLINDER! Sam fell in love with Tame Impala at a time when she moved to Australia, so what more fitting album could she have chosen than their game changer, Currents. We cover a lot of ground in this episode, from sunburn on Super Yachts to sharing a bill with The Maccabees in Malawai. It’s out now wherever you find your podcasts. Enjoy! #Goldierocks #Tamepala #NME #Indie #Australia

@dnsbray and I are a true case of "opposites attract," as depicted in my forthcoming novel (more on that TK). Our toughest difference is that I'm a lifelong radical activist (and proud of it); D wasn't #bornthatway. We went to D's first ever demo on #nokingsday and it wasn't a hit with D (best day ever for me). But when @tabithadenholm of @womenundertheinfluence invited us to write letters supporting #prop50california at LA's iconic @genghiscohenla we said yes--and had a great time with great people eating great appetizers and doing a great thing. #voteyeson50california #letterwriting4thewin #everyonedosomething

Last week, I premiered three aromatic poems—poems paired with the sensory act of smelling. As I read the first, audience-members were invited to hold and smell a cardamom pod; a cinnamon stick was smelled during the second, and a slice of ginger was smelled during the third. All this happened under a magnificent oak, at the outdoor amphitheater at TreePeople in Los Angeles. Thank you to the Yogi Foundation, to curator Tabitha Denholm, and to filmmaker Gilly Barnes for including these poems in your unforgettable program about spice. @theyogifoundation @treepeople_org @tabithadenholm @womenundertheinfluence @gillybarnes
