We serve a great and mighty God. As Apostolics, we especially know that there is "no other name given among men... whereby we must be saved and freed from sin." That name is "Jesus, Jesus, that's my King." We have a reason to celebrate our all-powerful, risen King. "Jesus, that's my King" is at the heart of the song, affirming Jesus' rightful place as King over our lives and everything in creation. He has conquered the world and cannot be defeated: "Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him." He reigns supreme! Even though He created heaven and earth, He still cares about you and me. We can talk to Him, and He hears and answers us (Psalms 116:1-2). "He delivers when we call. When I call His name, He answers me. When I call His name, He delivers me." If you don't know who this God is, let me introduce you. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came down from His glory. He was born in a manger and laid down His splendor to die and rescue us from the sin we were drowning in. Now we have hope. If we follow Acts 2:38, we can dwell with Him forever! Tell me that isn't a reason to celebrate. That's why we jump, shout, and dance. We celebrate a powerful and merciful King, and His name is Jesus, Jesus, that's my King!
