Mountains endure a burden of witnessing time pass without the ability to move with it. They watch as generations pass, how vessels travel, waves crash and coastline change.

The main question is, does anything ever truely last? Or are things changing too slowly for us to realize.

In such a sense, this mountain will witness our first and last breaths, yet it knows that every rock will eventually return to the sea.

This flower emerges surrounded by grass and shrubs, yet it still stands by itself.

In relation, we too can be surrounded, yet still alone.

The hardest part may lie in the inability to explain it.

There is distance found within us between being seen, and being understood.

Mzansi meets digital media - wow Cape Town surely knows how to be a stunning city for tourists, holiday goers and people or communities who are just about expressing themselves. Nature, Tourism, Airbnbs, E - Hailing, Cuisine and buzzy night life is the order of the day. www.mzansitec.co.za

Often when I read Dream House Adventures at schools I remind the little listeners that Cape Town is full of free birthday treats. Last week I shared a free Cape Wheel ride at the V&A Waterfront with another birthday adventurer. She was my single-serving friend for the day (sneaky quote there from one of hubby’s favourite movies).

A few years ago, my youngest sister and I, who have birthdays in the same month, went up Table Mountain in a cable car together.

Every year, hubby, a relative who has a birthday in any of my kids’ birthday months, or I also take out kids on these adventures when their birthday months roll round — thankfully their birthdays are nicely clustered together and my dad and middle sister has birthdays in one of the clusters.

I’m blessed and grateful to live in such a beautiful city and to be able to able to enjoy it with my family.
