fantastic times at Rubies last night. Just the kind of sound bath I needed after a super long and hot day of driving. Big thanks to Madison, Alex, Jeremiah and the rest of the staff for helping us fill this date super last minute, and being so nice and welcoming!

Blending heavily manipulated electric and acoustic guitars, modular and analog synthesizers, and tape-like loops, the pair crafts patient, pastoral soundscapes that critics have dubbed “homespun monumental”—a distinctly Southeastern American reimagining of the German electronic and motorik traditions https://www.tacomaparknc.com Zeke Graves (also performing and recording as Ezekiel Graves, Datahata, Gravaphone) is a North Carolina-based multi-instrumentalist, electronic producer, audio engineer, and instrument builder. Long embedded in the Triangle’s experimental and underground music communities—frequently centered around venues like Nightlight in Chapel Hill—Graves works across minimal techno, synth experimentation, Krautrock-influenced ambient, and traditional acoustic forms. Wherever I’ve lived, October has always been my favorite month of the year. From Western Massachusetts to the Bay Area to Humboldt County to Tennessee, there’s something about the way the sun hits that energizes me. The central coast of California is certainly no exception. The garden is full of bounty, and the days are warm. And somehow, music feels and sounds better in October. There’s one more release coming in 2026 from Centripetal Force. It’s going to be a collaboration between Joseph Allred and Kelby Clark. We’re aiming for November, but I’ll have a better sense timing in the next couple of weeks. When that’s figured out, there will be an announcement. Stay tuned. In celebration of October, I’m offering 20% off your Bandcamp Friday purchase of everything in stock at Centripetal Force. Just use the code ‘onemoretogo’. This includes 2026’s amazing lineup of releases from Tacoma Park, Johnny Bell, Kevin Coleman, Prairiewolf, and BJ Cole & secondson. In case you missed it, there’s a special episode of the Across the Horizon podcast that focuses on Centripetal Force and includes interviews with John and Ben from Tacoma Park, Michael Hix of Nashville Ambient Ensemble, the guys from Prairiewolf, Kevin Coleman, Johnny Bell, and yours truly. Check it out. You’ll find the link in the bio. Much love to @acrossthehorizonshow for spotlighting the label and spreading the good word. That’s all for now. Talk soon.
