The H2GO device can make the disinfectant solution to treat up to 20liters of water! There’s a button for 1L, 2L, 5L, 10L and 20L! For educational purposes, I selected the 1L function since I only needed to filter 1L of dirty water.

This is the most accurate, simple and collective way to filter large amounts of water on the go. And for you newbies, YES, Any outdoor water is going to be dirty and contaminated with bacteria and viruses that will absolutely harm you.

Pictured is my suggested loadout for an overnight winter movement with snow in the forecast. The sleep system is packed inside the Short Ruck Stripped (SRS). It consists of a military sleep system heavy bag and G1 liner. I have a field tarp for shelter with 550 cord. Sometimes I carry a bivvy and stakes as well.

Some items not seen that I would pack in a combat support duffle (CSD): high loft top and bottom, heavy mittens, 7-8 r value blowup sleeping pad, an extra facemask or beanie, and hot hands in a gallon ziplock.

But regardless of the packing list, you can never have enough ammo. So I never leave home without an extra bando full of 5.56.

The battle is always the same: “pack light, freeze at night” versus carrying the ENTIRE packing list that your unit put out and being weighed down by stuff you’ll never use.

Choose wisely.

[HIKING LOAD-OUT] ⛰️⚔️

Recently we went on a hike and this is what I packed. I wanted to briefly go into depth of the contents I always pack on my hikes, whether it’s a few miles or 20.. I always overpack. I would rather not be underprepared should a situation arise where I need certain items. (No, I didn’t pack the Rifle this time, but I do when I go hunting where I hike off path for many miles or a hike that’s extensive.)

FIRST PICTURE: The @mysteryranch Blitz30 pack is extremely comfortable and durable, it allows me to pack all the contents and comfortably carry a heavier load without straining my back or shoulders, I typically switch to the Blitz35 or a bigger ruck pack for extended trips. Can’t forget the Crye precision pants.. I got these from @gfb_outfitting, I’m not new to these pants, I’ve worn Crye’s for as long as I can remember and they’ve always held up well. The boots, @obozfootwear are absolutely bulletproof. They’ve seen some dirt and time. One of my favorite boots.

SECOND PICTURE: Electronics, tools. Essentials for multiple applications. ( I also carry a laminated Map of the terrain and area I’m hiking, and an extended area map should my electronics fail me ) The @nestoutusa solar charger and battery packs are great for keeping things like the mini flashlight, headlamps, radio batteries, phones always charged. I also carry plenty of spare batteries, and one of my favorite battery carriers is the flexible one you see from @dynamicfuzz, this thing is comfortable and takes the shape of any area you stuff them in.

THIRD PICTURE: Rice Krispy treats for sugar ( carbs ) and trail mix with roasted peanuts and m&m’s ( carbs and fats ) are perfect light snacks, easily digestible and won’t keep you stuffed for long treks. @cana_provisions has a ton of survival and hydration supplies, I’ve got everything I need to “brew” clean water wherever I go, filtration is extremely important when you’re dealing with water in the wild. My Medkit is full of almost everything you’d need to render aid until you can get proper medical attention.
