MAY ⏩ SEPTEMBER This summer sped by much faster than I’d like, but still managed to capture some beautiful moments and people along the way (senior portraits, beach trips, joyful gatherings, hometown tourism, world cup, musicians, brothers, artists, mothers, family, friends). Thanks to everyone who invited me into their precious worlds for a few hours or a few days 🩷🌅 #seattlephotographer #portraitphotography #eventphotography

Something I’ve learned about myself is that acknowledgment is very important to me. A big part of what @heyblackseattle is meant to do is help to put our people “on the record” in a place where folks are so quick to erase us. I realized just how deep this runs for me this week. One of my friends (@taru2life ) named me in the acknowledgements section of his new poetry book and I cried and cried like he handed me a stack of gold bricks. With that in mind, I want to take you all away from the stage lights and make sure to acknowledge some of the people whose contributions might easily go unsung, but they are vital to creating community events like this one. Please support them (hire & work with them). And join me and @rieimagine_206 in giving them love in return for the love they brought to this Freshly Planted / Deeply Rooted work!!! We thank you!!

2025 was the most stable year I’ve had which is incredibly refreshing. I had some really cool collaborations & projects that reminded me why being an Artist is my passion, but this year was more about community & relationships. The people & organizations I worked with this year (some familiar & others brand new) made this year for me. Getting to be a part of @cultivate_the_collective Leadership Team is so fulfilling while also creating within the collective. Not to mention The Mommas 🫶🏾 Other organizations like @urbanartworks , @seattlerestored , & @hyattregencylakewashington are familiar favorites that I hope to continue relationships with. Other new relationships with @schackartcenter , @footballforher , & @publicdisplay.art reminded me to stay in my alignment 🖤 Getting to support my fellow Artists (wayyyyy too many to tag) is always a treat & honestly, I’m just humbled to be able to experience it all. Grateful for a stable 2025 & excited for the future 📈 #mommalipsdraws #seattleart #seattleartist
