Yesterday we met up with Taevyn who is pre-dental hygiene at Wichita State this fall.

What's been your favorite thing at Wichita State so far?

‘My favorite thing so far has been making friends. Also, I have SO much time to study! The professors are all nice and we also have SI [student instructor] meetings - They just help re-teach you what you've already been taught. Those meetings are really helpful!’

Any advice for this year’s seniors back at Humboldt High School?

‘Apply for The Humboldt Promise! I think it's a great opportunity. I've always had to stress about money for college until this scholarship came about. Even though I'm only getting the 90% rate, I think it's an incredible opportunity for everyone. I've been applying to different jobs, but I know if I don't get hired it's not really that big of a deal. I haven’t had to pay for much at all out of pocket.’

Have a great first semester, Taevyn... And hope your leg heals up soon, too!

Eight years on this field… and tonight I said goodbye to the girl who grew up on it. A bittersweet goodbye to the game that shaped me.
