RomComs have such fun stories and are needed after reading some anxiety-ridden mysteries.

I have found my new favorite fictional hometown, and I seriously never wanted to leave. Strawberry Kisses and Second Chances by Taffy Lovell is an absolute gem of a small-town rom-com that completely stole my heart.
If you love a good second-chance romance with main characters who are genuinely likable and relatable, you need to add this to your TBR immediately. Chelsey Hooper is the heartbeat of Juniper Valley, and she’s the premier event planner who stayed put to build a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends, even if she secretly wonders what it’s like to travel the world. Enter Taylor Compton, her high school sweetheart who jilted her seven years ago. He’s been living a high-flying, jet-setting life overseas, but he rolls back into town right in the middle of her chaotic planning for the town's annual Strawberry Days festival.

The chemistry between Chelsey and Taylor is so incredibly sweet, and watching them work through festival disasters side-by-side made their journey back to each other feel so genuine.

But can we talk about the setting? Juniper Valley is the kind of cozy, welcoming place that makes you want to pack your bags, visit for the weekend, and stay forever. Taffy Lovell balances the heartwarming romance with that perfect, feel-good energy that kept me reading late into the night.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you love sweet, closed-door contemporary romance with great banter, grab this one immediately!

🍓Strawberry Kisses & Second Chances🍓by Taffy Lovell @taffyl

This sweet love story is about healing, second chances, and creating a life you love. It’s cute and low angst, perfect for when you want a sweet read with a happy ending.

I loved all the quirky small town characters and how they all came together with great enthusiasm for their cute strawberry festival.

Now excuse me while I go eat my favorite strawberry treat- strawberries dipped in Nutella! 🍓

Link in the comments! (Also, I'm terrible. I always want to say "Luh-VELL", but it's pronounced "LUH-vell"! 🤦‍♀️) Anyway, it's a sweet romance! Please check it out! Thank you, friends!

I’m calling this my “Second Chance Summer” because I have been loving reading so many great second chance romances across multiple genres.

One recent second chance romance I enjoyed was Strawberry Kisses and Second Chances by @taffyl This was such an adorable and sweet story. I love the way the characters felt like friends to me as a reader and the town and secondary cast felt so huggable.

Chelsey and Taylor delivered on all the second chance romance vibes I want when I read this trope. From their shared history to the chemistry brewing between them, I felt all the pining and longing and was totally here for it. The plot was entertaining, think elevated Hallmark. In fact, I would love to see this one as a Hallmark movie.

Chelsey was left behind and while super successful in her chosen career path, she almost hides behind the safety and comfort of her home town. I felt like her character had good depth and backstory.

Taylor travels the world, living a dream he and Chelsey once shared. When he returns home and faces the past, he must decide what he wants most and this time what he’s willing to do to have Chelsey.

I loved watching the two fall back in love while also falling in love again as their current versions. It was a sweet story.

I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator was easy to listen to. I recommend this book.

What trope have you been reading a lot lately?

It’s been a slower reading month, but I’m loving the variety!

Are we reading any of the same books?
