“I, for one, would never hush.”

The opportunity to act and assistant music direct/compose in Theater Emory’s production of Lysistrata means the world to me. This show taught me that I am capable of taking up space as a performer— capable of being loud, capable of being bold, capable of making strong choices and being confident that they are the right ones. It gave me the opportunity to share my music and serve as a creative leader in an area of production that means so much to me. Being an artist or human is not easy or linear, but this is what makes it all worth it. I am beyond grateful for the chance to create goofy, absurd, over-the-top, meaningful work with such an incredible artistic team.

To everyone involved in Lysistrata, from professional actors to students, from casting to production team, I thank you, as an actor and as a musician. I’m so grateful to close out my freshman year of college with all of you.
