BLACKHAWKS DOWN WARRIORS – A string of five-straight Region XI postseason titles came to an end last night for Indian Hills as No. 14-ranked Southeastern defeated the No. 12-rated Warriors in the Region XI title game at the Hellyer Center, 95-74. Playing again without their leading scorer and Region XI Player of the Year, Tomas Woldetensae, IHCC saw the visitors from Southeastern sprint to a 12-0 lead to start the contest, and the Warriors trailed 47-34 at half. The Blackhawks (27-4) wouldn’t let IHCC (26-6) any closer than nine points in the second half enroute to the 21-point win and the regional title. SCC advances to the District XI title game on Thursday against the Tetons of Williston State (21-10) at Williston, North Dakota where an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division I National Men’s Basketball Tournament will be in the balance. Indian Hills will now wait to see if its body of work will be enough to garner one of eight at-large bids handed out by the NJCAA on the morning of Monday, March 11 to the national tournament March 18-23 in Hutchinson, Kansas. #WeAreHills #WarriorNation 🏀

It’s Indian Hills vs. Southeastern for the third time this season and the Region XI title will be decided tonight at the Hellyer Center. Each team found victory on its home floor in the prior two meetings, and Warrior fans hope the home court will hold up one more time, handing IHCC (26-5) its sixth straight Region XI postseason title, and advancing it to the District XI finals where an automatic bid to the National Tournament would be in the balance.
