One of the most INSANE things I’ve ever done! @noshortcutstt We ended up taking 8th out of 75 teams, which we are very pumped about. We are NOT a team of runners, but we put in the work. @theseantodd , the owner of @coveusa had this crazy idea and came to me regarding coaching the guys up for the event. I said say less 🤝 Coach Rio @itsriomata our running specialist at @take.uncommon.action took on the task and did an incredible job. Most of these guys weren’t running AT ALL and in just 3 months we had them ripping 6 min miles WE GOT THE SAUCE ⚡️ Personally, this was a massive accomplishment as well. I finished my 100 mile race 4 weeks ago and was injured until 10-14 days ago. Didn’t say anything to the team, but I was nervous about letting everyone down. Less than 2 weeks ago I started running again. Hit a couple speed workouts, and showed up. Ended up running 60+ reps this race, with almost every single rep being in the 5 min pace per mile range, my fasted split being 4:30 and only a single digit number of 6 min splits. It was a dog fight out there. Good thing we are DAWGS. I live for the pain, man. You learn everything you need to know about yourself. This was HARD. But we are built to do hard things. 700 Miles on one pair of shoes!? Yeppp! These are definitely my favorite shoe that I’ve ever ran in. These are the Hybrid shoe in their lineup. I could run on the trails, road and even the treadmill instead of having to keep rotating between different shoes. It made it so simple and convenient for me to just keep the same shoe with me and be prepared to run anywhere, anytime. I even ran the first 55 miles of my race in these before switching to another Mount to Coast shoe. Welcome to Oak Ranch 🌾🏔️ Maddie and I lived in Idaho from 2015-2019 and absolutely loved it. We knew we’d be back someday. It became my lifelong goal to purchase a property up here where I could host retreats and provide something for our athletes that you don’t normally see in the fitness space. So blessed to make this dream a reality. - 8 Acres - Volcano mountain in the back yard for trail runs and hikes - Private shooting range going in on property - The Snake River for fishing and water sports - Teton view - Public land for off roading/shooting - Sand Dunes for dune buggies - Grand Teton NP and Yellowstone NP within 1-2 hours away And the thing I’m most excited for: the TUA HQ gym going in ASAP. A (hopefully) 2,800+ square ft private gym on property for bringing all my athletes into one place. My favorite thing about my job is I get to facilitate incredible experiences for people. You create your own pain threshold. That will ruffle some feathers haha but it’s true. Ever seen the people who just seem to go through pain unfazed? Be honest. We all have. It’s not that they’re just genetically gifted. It could help sure. It’s also a choice. A mental decision to give very little effort and focus to the pain and the rest to what’s keeping them going. Not what holds them back. If you get a broken ankle, obviously you’re going to feel it and need to check it out. But there is a point where you need to make a decision to see just how powerful your body is. It heals. It strengthens. IT ADAPTS.
