I have spent most of my career building brands for @studioanoukb

Creating concepts, visual identities and worlds that make people see, feel and remember something. From hotels and international brands to building @wearewowmakers today.

In the Agafay Desert TAKE KAER created that world for me.

Meditation, sound, desert light, beautiful people with delicious food and rising above Morocco in a hot-air balloon. Every detail considered, so I didn’t have to consider anything.

As a mother and a (female) founder, allowing yourself to be cared for is not a luxury. It is taking responsibility for your energy, your creativity and everything, everyone who relies on you.

We all know the fight-or-flight response to stress. But research from UCLA shows that women have a unique biological reaction: tend-and-befriend. When we connect, we release oxytocin; acting as a powerful natural buffer against cortisol.

Our new @take_kaer platform is ( live ).

And I’ll be honest, it started as a selfish project, and still is.

These are all places I wanted to go myself, with a program that actually fits what I need. Interiors that make you sigh, daily movement, deep-tissue massages, and beds that make you want to lie there like a starfish all day.

After years of connecting people through group retreats, I’m so proud to finally have something with beautiful places and programs you can do on your own, or together with someone you love. At your own pace, all year round, no waiting for the next retreat date to open.

So if navigating the wellness travel jungle and picking the right treatment out of a PDF with 300 of them, stresses you out more than it relaxes you, call me. I know exactly where you should go, and I’ll fix it for you ❤️

CLARITY, TRUST AND MOMENTUM
Last week, we had the privilege of guiding the strategy team of @abnamronl for the second time.

What stands out most is what becomes possible when you design the right environment.
Because that’s what many leadership teams are navigating right now:
• How do we create clarity in complexity?
• How do we keep connection alive when pressure rises?
• How do we make faster decisions without compromising quality?

💡What we see again and again:
High performance is about creating the conditions in which people can actually think, speak and act at their best.

At @take_kaer we intentionally step away from the traditional setup.
Leaders are brought into nature.
Movement and breathwork are intergrated.
Sessions are facilitated at a level where the nervous system and the mind are challenged.

During these 3 days I guided the team ensuring depth, sharpness and real impact during the sessions.
When time and a good set-up is created to explore team dynamics and ways of working, something shifts in the brain. And when the brain shifts, the behavior follows: and this is where optimization begins!

The result?
More clarity.
More trust.
More momentum.
Not by chance, but by design.

This week asks for honesty about desires, values, and the direction we take in our life.
A new energy is emerging after a long period of emotional processing and uncertainty. Many people feel the impulse to move quickly, to take action, to finally change direction. The desire to move forward is real.
Yet we are still in a closing phase of the cycle. Something is finishing. This requires patience, mental rest, and consistency.

Self-focus is becoming unavoidable.

For many, this is uncomfortable. We were taught to prioritise harmony, adaptation, and the needs of others. But when the self is constantly ignored, resentment builds in the background. Anger appears. Frustration accumulates.
Sacred rage is part of this moment in the collective. It is the signal that something inside refuses to continue living in self-denial.

What we suppress lingers. What we allow moves.

This is not about impulsive reactions or burning everything down. It is about becoming conscious of what truly matters to you and learning to stand behind it with clarity.
Your values must start aligning with your actions. Direction becomes visible through what you consistently choose to do.

This week is a practice of sovereignty: listening to the body, recognising your real priorities, and learning to hold both yourself and others in honest relationship.
This is the work we do in my containers and sessions: building nervous system capacity so desire can become direction.

Something from our recent @travel.sisterhood Zoom chat has stayed with me.

We were talking about January.
Goals. Vision boards. Momentum.
And one woman shared that she’s actually happy, with her clients, her business, her pace. Sometimes hearing what everyone else is doing makes her wonder if she should want more.

It really resonated.

Last year, I lived in striving mode. Consuming advice. Chasing ideas. Feeling the pull of the next thing. Then time in Botswana at a @take_kaer retreat slowed everything down, nature, breath, stillness, and the message was simple: stop pushing.

Lately, I’ve been nurturing instead of chasing. And the work flowing in now feels more aligned, more interesting, more fulfilling.

Maybe growth doesn’t always come from striving.
Maybe sometimes it comes from staying present.

About three years of building Kaer and searching for the right place. It feels more like ten.

We’re not there yet, but we’re focused and a little step closer to the bigger dream: Kaer Hotels.

I’ve started writing on Substack about the process. It’s early, and I’m still finding my way, but I want to share more of the real side of building this. Not the polished version, but what it actually looks like, the raw parts, the doubts, the heavy moments, and everything in between.

In the end this is what it’s all about. She thrives when she trusts her body. When the body is listened to, when it’s nourished with food, when it is exercised and moved, recovered and rested.

The People Who Held Us

Botswana was wild and beautiful…
But it was the people who changed me.

At Koro River Camp for the Find Your Roar retreat, we didn’t just stay, we were held.

By the land.
By breath.

Sang as they served us dinner.
