As I type this, I’m actively producing massive tears. A year ago today, I finished my 900 mile trek to my new apartment in NYC with my mom. It’s been such a surreal experience with many tears.. many smiles.. and many incredible moments I’ll keep with me forever. The photos I’m sharing are a compilation of some of the many memorable moments from this last year starting from February 15th… to February 15th. 😅 I’ve been able to see countless Broadway shows.. I have had work opportunities I wouldn’t have ever thought possible like working for the National September 11th Memorial & Museum where I met some of my favorite people in NYC (though I don’t see them anymore 😩), I’ve gotten a job as an usher for BROADWAY and have gotten to work shows like The Lion King, The Tina Turner Musical, Wicked, and MJ The Musical.. I quit the museum and started a full time position at Actors Equity. The experiences don’t stop there. I’ve had the incredible pleasure of meeting Lea Michele TWICE, and seeing her multiple times from her concert last July to the numerous times at the August Wilson Theatre where she took on the role as FANNY BRICE IN FUNNY GIRL! I moved here before any of that was announced btw. I don’t know how this happened the year I moved here.. but I’ll forever think that I was meant to be here when she was doing this. 🥹🥹 oh… I also got COVID here too! Not that that’s fun.. but considering I worked at a grocery store during the height of it.. I was rather shocked that it took 2 years to get it! I got to see Amal, attended a Drew Barrymore taping, had visits from family and friends, took tons of pictures and videos, honored those affected by 9/11 & the bombing of 93, got my associates degree, experienced Thanksgiving and Christmas in NYC.. visited home for my birthday.. then got super depressed because I missed home 😅 as hard as it’s been it’s been the most rewarding year of my entire life.. and I absolutely cannot wait to see what this year brings 😊 tomorrow I celebrate by seeing FUNNY GIRL AGAIN! Thanks to my dad 🥰🥰 anyway. HAPPY ONE YEAR TO ME. I apologize if this is all over the place but I’m actively busy and also.. adhd. Okay BYE 👋🏽❤️

I haven’t made a post post in awhile but because I mainly haven’t been in the mood to. Two weeks ago I was failing a class with a 48. I was overwhelmed I think with the feelings of missing home and the sadness surrounding it. But I hauled butt the last week and made up for everything and ended up passing. I mean honestly I wanted to give myself a month when I moved to not have to do any schoolwork while I adjust. In my defense.. I thought I would have been up here sooner though like originally planned. So my time off from school ended earlier than I wanted.
Along with the absolute desire to not do things because I feel blah… I most definitely didn’t want to go to the company party. The actual fear of being with my coworkers that I only somewhat knew and finding a way to get IN the groups and socialize was a lot. Contrary to popular belief, I’m actually INCREDIBLY shy. However, I was told by multiple people that I need to go, socialize and try to have fun. So I pushed myself. I pushed myself to do something that actually really scared me. And I do NOT regret it. I had a lot of fun, drank wine (I know, shocker), got to actually speak to coworkers outside of work, and went out for dinner afterwards. No one here really knows me, so they have NO idea how difficult it was for me to show up last night. But hey! I conquered a fear and I’m so proud of myself for pushing through and showing up. Also so grateful for the coworkers who made me feel included and talked to me. You all have no idea how much that meant to me! Okay I’m done being sappy bye ❤️
