It’s more than learning choreography.
Every Contemporary Club session is designed to develop the dancer behind the movement.

Technique.
Strength and control.
Movement exploration.
Improvisation.
Repertoire.
Industry readiness
Creative development.
Individual feedback.
Mentorship.

And throughout the year, dancers are given the time and space to develop something that can’t be taught through choreography alone: their own artistic voice. Because becoming a contemporary dancer isn’t just about being able to execute movement. It’s about understanding it.

This is something Michelle doesn’t talk about lightly.

Because sometimes, more training isn’t the answer.
More classes.
More hours.
More pressure.
More pushing.

Sometimes the most important thing a young dancer can learn is how to train intelligently, understand their body and build a relationship with dance that can last.

This philosophy sits at the heart of how we teach at Dancelab.

If you’re a dance parent, share this with someone who might need to hear it.

Not every dancer is looking for another class.
Some dancers want to understand movement more deeply.
To develop their own artistic voice.
To receive real feedback.
To become stronger, more versatile and more intentional in the way they move.

If that sounds like you, Contemporary Club might be your kind of training.

I’ll let you in on something. I don’t want a room full of dancers who move like me.

I want dancers who are curious enough to figure out how they want to move. Who aren’t obsessed with being the most flexible, the highest jumper or the biggest mover in the room. Who can watch another dancer and think, *I love that*, without feeling like they need to become them.

Because the most interesting dancers aren’t always the ones with the biggest tricks. They’re the ones who have something of their own to say.

That’s a huge part of what I want Contemporary Club to be.

A place to get stronger.
A place to get more versatile.
A place to take risks.
A place to find more freedom in your movement.

And, hopefully, a place where you leave each session knowing a little more about the dancer you’re becoming. That’s what I want to build with you.

At some point, you stop wanting to just learn the choreography. You want to understand *why* you move the way you do.

You want more control.
More confidence.
More freedom.
More artistry.

You want to become the kind of dancer who can walk into a room and make the movement feel like their own. That’s when things get interesting.

Contemporary Club was created for that dancer.
🖤 12 dedicated sessions.
🖤 One community.
🖤 A whole year to develop your craft.

If you’re nodding along… you probably already know this is for you.

MOVE YOUR WAY - a movement campaign concept fusing different styles of movement together.

My personal love for Pilates & dance come together in this commercial heels piece, exploring how one style can be woven into another — and, in turn, beautifully complement each other.

I created this set almost a year ago as a way to challenge my creative skills and bring a finished, polished concept to life from a mock brief I created myself. I grew so much through this process, and while there’s so much I would change now, there’s also so much I still love about what I created then.

This is just the beginning. I’m so excited to keep creating work like this, push my ideas further and, hopefully, turn these concepts into real collaborations in the future🥂

Okay, we’re probably a little biased… we think Morning Light is pretty special. ☀️

But what gets us is hearing you say it.

We have five values that sit at the heart of everything we do:

Inclusivity & Connection.
Self-Awareness & Empowerment.
Playfulness.
Support & Community.
Innovation & Excellence.

They’re not just words we wrote down because they sounded nice.

They’re what we want you to feel when you walk through our doors.

To feel welcomed and known.

To move in a way that builds confidence and connection to yourself.

To learn from teachers who genuinely care about their craft.

To laugh, play, wobble, sweat and not take it all too seriously.

And to find yourself surrounded by people who make showing up feel a whole lot easier.

So when we grabbed the mic at our 7th birthday and asked our community what they love about Morning Light… hearing these answers was pretty special and affirming we are on the right path. 🥹

Because apparently, the things we hope you feel here are actually the things you’re feeling.

But don’t take our word for it…

We’ll let our community tell you. ☀️

Someone once told me they wanted to come to Morning Light, but felt like they needed to get fitter first. That statement really stuck with me.

Because I know walking into a new studio can feel intimidating when you don’t know what you’re walking into.

Morning Light is filled with everyday, down-to-earth humans in all different seasons of life. Different ages, different bodies, different levels of experience and different reasons for being here.

You don’t need to be fitter, stronger, more flexible or know what you’re doing before you come. You just need to come as you are.

I think people realise pretty quickly behind these doors are a whole lot of friendly faces who genuinely care about each other.

For our 7th Birthday every class has the chance to win a prize! More prizes being drawn all week in classes make sure you come along and join in on the fun!

You don’t need more motivation. You need support to keep showing up.

Because how many times have you told yourself…

“I’ll start when things calm down.”
“I just need to get motivated again.”
“I don’t have time right now.”
“I always fall off track.”

The problem is, life rarely calms down.
