POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

hey friends! i’d love to invite you all to the debut of my art show “Don’t Forget About Us” this coming Saturday, 17th of October, at Abacus Row.

displayed will be the illustrations i made during my seven weeks inside Cal City Detention. i will present the show and hold Q&A about my experience between 1 and 4pm on Saturday.

donations will be accepted for the detainees at Cal City to help them with phone bills, commissary, lawyers’ consultations and other immigration fees.

this show is a part of a rotating exhibit that will be taking place around Bay Area throughout the next few months. the urgency is obvious if you’re keeping up with the current state of this country and California in particular. any amount of funds donated is vital and greatly appreciated!

and lastly, since my birthday was on 17th of September, debuting the show exactly a month from it seems extra special. if you ever wanted to get me a gift - please make a contribution towards the fundraiser for my girls.

love you all! see you Saturday!

‘Zub Dayu’ Posters now available for purchase @wombhousebooks 470 49th Street Oakland CA for a suggested base donation of $10 with all proceeds going to @street.aid.daily an organization that does direct aid, mutual aid, and political education in Odesa, Ukraine.

About the artwork behind the posters:

Zub Dayu means “I give my tooth” literally. figuratively, it means I promise.

it is an expression used in marketplaces, like bazaar in kharkiv I used to go to when buying my back to school clothes

merchants would say “I give my tooth,” meaning they promised the quality of the clothing was good then they would flick their teeth

I think about the vulnerability of promisor and promisee when we are in market is similar to this sensual act, where the submissive person seems more vulnerable but they are also actually in a position of power to bite off the finger like a bazaar merchant who can rip me off even though I am the purchaser where the material power dynamic intuitively favors me.

Hello there,
What an intense little spring we're having – a time full of so much uncertainty and topsy-turvy energy 🫧 In all of the noise and chaos, I suppose I'm here to invite you to my closing art show.

It's been a joy to showcase my work and curate alongside my artistic loves and share our pinky-flushed art with you all.

For our closing event, we'll be treated to beautiful concert by my dear friends Bernardo and Alexia, who will be sharing their hearts and music as we close the doors on this little chapter of work.

A little secret ( not so secret,I'm also making this my birthday gathering) I'm hoping to draw all my loved ones together for a springtime celebration filled with music, wine, and art.

This show will be ticketed on a sliding scale so we can compensate our musicians who have traveled a long way to be with us. Your support means so much to these talented artists.

Join us on May 17th at 6 PM, with music starting around 7:30 PM.

See ya there sweet pups

I cannot thank everyone enough for coming out to support this little show. I saw so many unexpected faces that brought immense warmth and joy to my heart. This exhibition demanded an extroverted stamina that’s outside my natural state, creating an ironic vulnerability within its unapologetic nature.
As many of you know, creating these shows are what I love most. Each one expresses a piece of myself I’m actively processing or questioning, collectively creating a patchwork self-portrait. The concept of femininity remains an endless mystery to me—sometimes disjointed, an echo of the past, alternating between a comforting blanket and sometimes dismorphic present reality. I’m deeply honored to share these explorations with everyone who contributed to this show and with all the loved ones who attended.

✨ BB.GRL OPENS MARCH 22 AT WAVE COLLECTIVE ✨

Bringing you full passenger princess attitude & baby girl energy 💖

It’s been such an honor and joy to collaborate with so many of my closest friends on this special exhibition.

Inspired by Joni Mitchell’s lyricism, Faye Wei Wei’s painting, Petra Collins’s visual world, and Chappell Roan’s lush aesthetics, bb.grl explores the spirit of the “passenger princess” through works and installations by our talented collaborators.

Cherry on top of this baby girl sundae:

For two and a half years,
I’ve walked the same 50-minute path through Berkeley.
Morning light, the scuffed lace of my black leather boots,
the weight of my purple backpack pulling at my shoulders.
The bushes twist in their seasons.
Spring daisies burst into being, frost clings to moss.
This walk is just mine—
two hours each day to untangle
the knots in my chest.
The wrinkles, the snags I get caught on.
I dream myself into conversations,
see the faces of friends I long for,
feelin their presence hovering,
just out of reach.
I let my heart throb with loss,
swell with excitement,
over and over, on this worn stretch of pavement.
Lately, the air feels lilac
It hums, like the inside of a shell.
The walk has become a cathedral,
a vast and intricate atrium—
stories of love and longing projected
across the sky in jagged, painted lines.
I’ve been lost in it.
Overwhelmed by its grandeur,
but transfixed.
The beauty folds me in,
and I dig at myself,
trying to find the edges.
I stand still,
feel my breath in the cool air,
remind myself:
I’m not just the watcher.
I’m not separate.
I’m part of the story—
a vital piece of the whole.
