The British Blacklist celebrated its fourth annual Blacklisted Honours at @mrporter_official , London, bringing together leading figures from across screen, stage, literature and sound to recognise seven creatives whose work continues to shape culture.

Our 2026 Honourees:

💫 Aaron Pierre, acclaimed actor whose work across stage and screen has established him as one of Britain’s leading international talents. Presented by Clint Dyer, actor, writer and director.

💫 Ashley Walters, actor, director and musician whose career has helped shape Black British culture across screen and sound. Presented by Kano, rapper, songwriter and actor.

💫 Lashana Lynch, award-winning actor whose work spans British theatre, television and major international films. Presented by Tawiah, singer, songwriter and composer.

💫 Giggs, pioneering British rapper whose influence has helped shape UK rap and Black British music for nearly two decades. Presented by Posty, founder of GRM Daily.

💫 Dean Atta, acclaimed poet and author whose work explores identity, family, queerness and the Black British experience. Presented by Lady Phyll, co-founder and CEO of UK Black Pride.

💫 Lynette Linton, award-winning writer, director and former Artistic Director of the Bush Theatre, whose work continues to champion bold new voices on the British stage. Presented by Benedict Lombe, award-winning playwright and screenwriter.

💫 Sharon Martin, acclaimed make-up and hair designer whose work across film and television has helped bring memorable characters and stories to life. Presented by Jo Martin, actor and Sharon Martin’s sister.

In 2025, disability culture moved decisively from the margins to the main stage, reshaping design, fashion, media and the arts from the inside out.

Across exhibitions, product launches, runway shows and prime-time television, Disabled people were no longer positioned as afterthoughts or inspiration, but as collaborators, creators and cultural authorities.

These twelve moments serve as reminders that accessibility is not merely about inclusion, but about who gets to define taste, innovation and the future of culture itself.

Hollywood is known for sensational storytelling and special effects. Yet while breakout technologies are disrupting the way movies are being made, not much has changed when it comes to scripts.

From Dalton Trumbo’s bathtub-born stories to Aaron Sorkin’s witty, fast-paced dialogues, the default assumption has remained the same: anyone and everyone can learn a script by reading it.

Yet for some, reading can be an overwhelmingly challenging exercise––something director Stefan Schwartz (@stefanschwartz_) and actor Idris Elba (@idriselba) know all too well.
Both dyslexic––and drawing from their personal, lived experiences––they teamed up to create a new normal with Talking Scripts (@talkingscripts): an app that reads any film and TV script to you, making it easier to absorb the content in audio format.

Already trusted and used on the sets of ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘The Americans’ and ‘Hijack’, the app goes beyond dyslexia to support the needs of those with ADHD and vision impairments as well.

Our co-founder, Bérénice Magistretti (@berenicemagistretti) spoke with Schwartz about what this means for Hollywood and why it matters for the next generation of creatives.

🤯 WOAH! We had a wild time at @sxswlondon last week! I had the honour of speaking on stage 3 times, including with my brothers @idriselba, @stefanschwartz_ and the epic team at @talkingscripts and @akunawallet. 🚀

🙏 Massive THANK YOU to everybody who queued up to come and see us speak at #ShoreditchElectric, @trumanbrewery , and #ChristChurchSpitalfields. I know it wasn’t easy to find a spot and we all really appreciate it!

Attending Idris Elba’s session at @sxswlondon was a genuine privilege. We learned about his innovative work using technology and AI to revolutionise the creative industry in Africa. He’s creating systems that allow artists to monitor their creative output, manage their rights, and ensure fair compensation. @theakunagroup

A particularly inspiring moment was when he discussed his new app, developed to overcome challenges in script reading, especially for those with dyslexia—a personal mission for him. @talkingscripts

We admired his strategy of developing focused solutions for a niche before expanding. It was an honor to be there, and we feel truly inspired.
