One year without my boss, my mentor, and my friend. There are still days when it doesn’t feel real. Charlie believed in me, challenged me, and gave me opportunities that changed the direction of my life. Losing him left a hole that I don’t think time will ever completely fill. But grief has also reminded me that the mission doesn’t stop when the people we love are gone. Every campus. Every student. It is one thing that since the day this boy was born he’s been a Yankee fan because of his parents and the people around him. This kid hasn’t changed the way he thinks about the NY logo because it is all he knows. Now just imagine the team that is all you know treating you like you are some joke to the world. That you are some piece of rotten cheese left over in the refrigerator. Imagine being in his position right now not feeling good enough because the team he thought he loved is the team that is really ruining his life right now. I feel so terrible for Anthony because he’s literally put his EVERYTHING into this sport and this sport has done nothing but sabotage his life and ruining him mentally, physically, and emotionally. The reason why I continue to stand by him is because since the day I found out who he was and is I knew I wanted to defend him and appreciate every ounce of him. Now to the people who want to ruin him, use him, sabotage him & do all the other nasty unnecessary things to him Jesus needs to throw y’all to the wolves before he brings you to his Promise Land. I’m sorry Jesus can’t even save y’all right now because you are sabotaging his child. Now to me that is so hurtful and disrespectful. Anthony deserves better and I want to be that person there for him. I may not have known him my entire life but I’m so glad I can support him and be a rock for him now because he needs people like me who not only care about him but help him through life. I learned the hard way you idiots can too. ✌🏻 Also don’t forget that this boy is also a son, a brother, a best friend, a nephew, a cousin, and a former student athlete to those that care about him and always will. Treat him like a human being twice as much as you treat him like an athlete.
