GO THAT WAY ➡️

In taxonomy, Lepidoptera is the biological order that includes butterflies, and like those creatures, the new @lepidoptera.made collection is beautiful, delicate, and playful. Our team member, Kenzie, puts so much care and intention into her work, and those qualities flutter throughout this entire drop; outside of her own pieces, she did tagging and patching for other lines, created the gorgeous collage backgrounds we’ve used for our teaser posts, took most of the model photos, and so much more.

Art and organizing blend together in @junievening’s community-focused work, and our new collab with her, a collection of upcycled one-of-ones, is a perfect example of that. “We Take Care of Our Friends” is both affirmation and challenge — at the end of the day, we’ve all got each other, and each other is all we’ve got.

Bonus: all of the secondhand garments were sourced by Juni and Kenzie from our friend Shelby at @looped.bst

@grenudathreads is often our top seller in the Friendshop, and it’s not hard to see why. Jessica’s work does something that’s really hard to do with “merch,” where it connects with people not only on an aesthetic level, but also on a deeper, more personal level. A lot of that can likely be attributed to how generous she is in sharing herself through the things she makes, creating space for people to find themselves in her work, as well.

These new tees feature Jessica’s incredible collage work, lovingly adapted to screen print by her partner @bekartoe, and also double as advertisements for her new project, @dreamhotlinepod (1-888-985-0333).

@bekartoe makes magical things happen. Of course he’s a talented printer who puts the ink to fabric for everything Friendship produces, and a driven artist who is constantly creating, but he’s also an explorer, traversing the vast world he’s built in his head and returning to us with little peeks of what he’s seen. His ongoing project, The Land of the ANTI-SUN, has taken many forms, including two new tee designs for this drop. Coming from anyone else, his work might feel intimidating or scary, but Bekartoe’s kindness and joy always shine through.

This night was really unforgettable. Seeing the culmination of so many efforts, the community showing up like they did, friends lifting each other up, a group of folks sharing in awe and wonderment. Magic happened here-- better yet magic LIVES here.

ARTISTS! The Forget Me Not Gallery is returning September 27th during the Good Apple Awards Fundraiser at @okcontemporary . You all helped the OK Survivor’s Act SB 1835 become a LAW and now it’s time to finish what we started : bringing home OK’s criminalized survivors. Your donated artwork will raise funds for legal fees for survivors. Let’s create art that reminds everyone that we will not forget about OK’s criminalized survivors!
