HOSTESS SPOTLIGHT: Natalia Anguiano was awe-inspired by a night out at the legendary nightclub Osmosis in 1991 and moved to San Francisco two weeks later. As a trained Afro-Haitian, modern, and jazz dancer, she was quickly asked to perform at nightclubs like DV8, where she met lifelong friends and joined the Toon Town rave family. Enraptured by the hypnotic beats, glamorous outfits, and the warm sense of community, Natalia found her place in the limelight by overcoming her crippling stage fright. In 1999, Natalia and a group of fellow dancers, including Tracy Baumbach, started Go Go Pro, which provides professional dancers at various Bay Area events. She also did a seven-year stint with an avant-garde SF Butoh dance company called 'Collapsing Silence.' Natalia now prefers to freestyle dance to the deep beats of musical styles ranging from acid jazz to house and everything in between. Without the rigid constraints of choreography, she lets the music guide her on the dance floor as her infectious energy encourages others to join in.
