365 days ago my work was featured on the runway for the first time 🩵
Untitled blouse and skirt - these were first pieces i’ve ever designed n made. Skirt pattern was then repurposed for YATEN set, 2 posts ago, and that one ended up being modeled in the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce show :)
Blouse: repurposed tablecloth, skirt is not denim, but a denim colored canvas type. #fashiondesign

Throwing it back to my first-ever styling session in April with Tamara! 🌸👗 This was the moment that started it all—an incredible experience bringing our vision to life. POND PLAYTIME 🪷 S/S 2024

Capstone project by Alaiza Arcega. With heavy inspiration from Monet’s Water Lily paintings, this seven-look collection incorporates aspects of a pond, such as lily pads, koi fish, and the water itself in each outfit. Features a signature print designed by myself, illustrated with alcohol marker on plastic paper, which was then scanned in high quality and printed on fabric through either a large format fabric printer or through sublimation.

Incredibly thankful for my super pretty and awesome models for killing it down the runway, and incredibly grateful for everyone supporting me along the way, specifically @rose_ayuste for always being there for me with all those late nights at school, and my lovely boyfriend @victor.mendoza__ for always keeping me on track and always supporting me emotionally.

Definitely will not be my last collection 🩵 hope to be posting like this again in a couple years :)

my star look ! went thru hell for this dress but it was so worth it. tamara ate n left no crumbs w this one she literally IS the water
🪡: strapless layered sheer/iridescent “water” dress + tie front sheer cardigan in a lucie jacket silhouette.
✂️: standard + iridescent organza for dress + embroidered organza drapery fabric for cardigan.
