When Shepard Fairey customized a maroon 1937 Packard 115C Touring Sedan, he thought long and hard about the social commentary elicited by this stunning vehicle introduced in the throes of the Great Depression, and how that messaging translates to modern times.

On behalf of Hagerty and Broad Arrow Auctions, I'm excited to sit with two of my favorite colleagues from the car world Emma Gwyther and Tamara Warren at Worth magazine's Groundbreaking Women conference today!

We'll talk about the luxury automotive world, collecting and investing in collector cars and how brands can build trust targeting female buyers and collectors.

Who says cars need only be a man's world? ❤️

We traveled to Seattle to check out Genesis Gives and Hyundai Hope’s local community impact. We participated in a STEAM workshop at the @boys.and.girls_club of Kings County, learned about the importance of car seat installation at @seattlechildrens and checked out the great community at @aim_seattle. Women influence 86% of car-buying decisions.

So why are so many cars still designed as if we're an afterthought?

That’s exactly why Tamara Warren built Le Car. I spoke with her about her perspective on the auto industry as both a former automotive journalist and a woman. She posed a question we should all be asking: If women are making the buying decisions, why aren't we being considered from the very beginning?

With Le Car, she doesn’t want to teach women how to fit into the existing system, she wants to give them the information and leverage to make better decisions on their own terms.

Because if women aren't part of the conversation when products are being built, no amount of marketing can fix what was missed.

This isn't just a conversation about cars, it's about every industry that wants women's money without building for women's lives.

About last night , it started with dinner with @leequinones & @tamarawarren @ilpostoaccanto , the food was great , the company was great and both Tamara & Lee are great story tellers , Tamara’s from the motor city - Detroit and grew up around cars and Lee , well he’s THE OG New Yorker Raised on the Lower East side with so many incredible stories of life in the Gritty 70’s & 80’s in NYC all the way to his current globe trotting days traveling the world.
Including All those Long Nights riding the rails , spray painting the cars & being at the forefront of the early Graffiti style street art movement .
Lee and Tamara attended our wedding in 2024 & I vaguely remember Lee saying he’ had a wedding gift for us , well he hid it quite well under the table for 4 hrs at dinner , until he presented it to us along with the explanation of how H & I are now cuppled for ever like 2 subway cars , painted in Lee’s signature Graffiti style reminiscent of his early days back in the 70’s

Now all I gotta do is get em back to LA In one piece , get em framed and couple them together with 3 chains as Lee advised ;)

Many , many thanks my friend - it’s truly appreciated & thanks again for dinner ;)
