Sometimes the most meaningful opportunities come from an unexpected email. 💜

When UMPS CARE Charities reached out to us about helping their college scholarship recipients, we knew this was something we wanted to be part of.

We had the opportunity to give Tamia, a sophomore at Howard University, a dorm room makeover, and we couldn’t wait to get started!

Before the makeover, we asked her to share her style, favorite colors, and what she’d love to have in her room. She even sent us an inspiration board! We took those ideas and got to work creating a space that felt like her, with plenty of practical storage solutions along the way.

But our favorite part? Watching her walk through the door and see everything for the first time. That’s a moment we won’t forget. 🥹

What makes this experience especially meaningful is the organization that brought us together.

UMPS CARE Charities provides college scholarships and mentorship to students who were adopted at age 13 or older. Their All-Star College Scholarship program is helping young adults pursue their education with a community of people supporting them along the way.

We’re grateful to be involved and excited to continue supporting their other scholarship recipients, too.

A special thank you to @nestandnooksbedding for donating the sheets for Tamia’s new space!

We’d love for our Simply2Moms community to help UMPS CARE reach even more students. Visit @umps_care to learn about their mission and consider making a donation. 💜
