Happy 2024 from team lazy to dress up for the New Year 😂

Zach had an absolute blast with his Lala and Tatay. At the same time, my hubby and I were busy downstairs in our shop, glued to the edge of our seats while binge-watching the highly addictive Korean series 'Moving' - for someone who rarely watches Korean shows, trust me, it was mind-blowing!

We had an incredible New Year's Eve feast with a leftover finger-lickin' good chicken curry from Carinderia 😅 a mouth-watering cake from Amon Cafe, and some yummy cookies and revel bars from tam_isbynilolyn, our fave go-to for sweet treats.

It was an incredible night! We had the best time ever! Although we didn't manage to take a photo together, it was worth it because Zach was so hyped up by all the excitement going on outside that he couldn't sleep. But, finally, at 1:30 am, he fell into a deep slumber, and that's when I began my own little party. I indulged in some delicious sweets, read some thrilling books, and reflected on how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family. I prayed for an even better 2024. 🙏

First barefoot backyard garden birthday party at home 🌺🌴🎂🎈🌼!!! I had always / we always celebrated birthdays / our baby shower / other special events in resorts or restaurants so it felt like a dream come true to be able to host something in our own home!! ❤️ So this was really special.✨✨

I really enjoyed planning and setting everything up for Tala’s 4th birthday. I had worked so hard in setting up the front garden, then the backyard and then also the rooftop to make it accommodating to guests. My Papa was always so supportive of it because, like me, he likes to invite people over and host lunches or dinners or even breakfast! I remember growing up - always hosted our friends, had salo salos and shared our home to our neighbors. My parents always let me have my friends over and host parties hehe. Those memories have stayed with me now that we own our own space. How I wish my family was here.

I’m already looking forward to how the garden is going to look after the rainy season. As someone who grew up in a huge city, I feel like outdoor parties where everyone can walk barefoot and just enjoy the fresh air and space is the best!! Want to host more while we can hehe. ❤️

Who is up for a backyard barbecue for @olibayer’s upcoming birthday??? 🙈😜

New favorite thing to do for birthdays since we now have a home and garden: Bake or order cake and decorate it with edible flowers picked right before we have to blow the candles! 🌼🌸 I totally forgot to add the gumamelas / hibiscus 🌺 (Did you know they were also edible?) and the kalachuchis for decoration!! Next birthday then haha.

Interesting thing though was when we were looking back at Tala’s 1st birthday and my previous birthday parties in our favorite resort (Sagana / Alon), I realized that our cakes always had flowers on it throughout our island lives. 🌴 Maybe that’s why it came so naturally this time - the dream to do it has been there since I’ve had my first island memories when visiting. And now we get to do it at home!! 😭🙏🏾

Tala’s delicious chocolate cake (everyone said it was so good) was made in Siargao by @nilolyngorgonio @tam_isbynilolyn for anyone on the island who needs cakes!!

My favorite party dress is from @suede.daze! 💛🧡🌞

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Tala’s 4th birthday with us in our new island home - the first birthday party for Tala (or anyone in the family!) since we moved here. 🙏🏾🌺 She was SO excited for this day to spend time with her friends and to turn 4 years old! ❤️ @olibayer spent 2 days baking and making the best food and I have spent the last 5 months making our home from a construction site to a garden space where we can do something like this with a lot of kids!! 🌴🌞🌺

Missing the rest of our family and close friends who are not on the island. Wish you were also here to celebrate with us!!
