Here's a recap of some of our favorite moments from this most recent Aggie Ring Day! From building meaningful connections with friends, faculty and peers, to preparing for careers that make a positive impact, students shared how their College of Arts and Sciences experiences have shaped their journeys.

Congratulations to everyone who received their Aggie Ring this past weekend!

Receiving my Aggie Ring symbolizes the hard work, memories, and experiences that have shaped my journey…’”

Before John Adams ’24 was a Texas A&M philosophy student, he was a camper at the Aggie School of Athens Philosophy Camp. It was a place where he could meet other students who shared his interests, learn from professors and college students, and, as John puts it, spend time with other “philosophy nerds.”

Years later, John returned to the same camp as a counselor, this time helping create that experience for someone else.

One of his favorite moments was watching campers present their own artwork and use ideas from earlier camp discussions to defend what made it art. Seeing their creativity and thinking develop throughout the week is part of what has kept John coming back as a counselor for three years.

“It’s extremely rewarding to be able to provide that space to others.”

Years after finding his own community at camp, John is paying that experience forward and creating that same sense of belonging for someone else. By sharing what he has learned and investing in the next generation, he’s showing what it can look like to be a force for good.
