“it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

well now I know exactly what that means. I ran my first marathon on Sunday, all 42.195km (26.2miles) in 4 hours 52 minutes and 49 seconds.

I’ve had no time for myself, let alone training for the marathon over the last 7 months, so I told myself I was just going to show up and try and finish.

the first half I ran like the wind alongside @imstevelim and @kongpoom and it was nothing short of magical. the pace felt right, legs were feeling great, and cool breeze gave me life.

the second half was nothing short of hell.

around 24km in things changed. steve pulled ahead, KP was behind and I was on my own. the route changed from a city run to being sent down a brutal motorway. legs started to give in and got heavier, and around 28km in cramps hit. and at that moment, I knew it was only mind over matter.

seeing friends along the way, the hugs, the high fives, the smiles and the equally shared pain kept me going.

I walked, I jogged, I hobbled, I ran (where I could), but having @___luxoffe’s voice in my head I DID NOT STOP!

eventually made it to the last km, a place at times I didn’t imagine I’d get to. I turned to my left, all of my @sabairunclub.bkk family were chanting my name and as I crossed the line, there was nothing else to do but feel the emotions and cry.

I’m so proud of all of us who showed up for ourselves and each other in each of our races on Sunday. Many of us couldn’t have imagined doing a full marathon, a half or even 10k a year ago, yet together we made it happen and boy was it worth it!

core memories were made. demons were slayed. and a life achievement that I’m proud of was added to my list. thank you thank you thank you 💙

Goodbye November, you were warm. Hello December, you’re my favourite.💫

Having the best months ever—great community, lovely friends, and new challenges that keep me excited for what’s next. I honestly love my life so much. Thank you all for welcoming me and being the comfort I’ve been searching for. Many more races and even louder cheers to come!

And lastly thank you my KP for being more than a boyfriend. You’re my coach, my health-checker, my chef, my host, and my home. Thank you for crossing that line from the fountain that day—because it gave us today. Happy first monthsary bb. See you at every finish line, just like I promised. 🤍

Second 10K of the year and what the H*** was that 😆

Questioning myself all the way but end it with a better time then I thought (with a lot of walking in between, thanks to that beautiful elevation gain 🥵).

Stay focused, believe in it and you can achieve anything 🔥🔥

A BIG Thanks to @sabairunclub.bkk family for the cheers & motivation 💙

Community.

This video always gets me in my feels. This was taken after I finished and PB’d in a 10km race. It makes me so grateful for the incredible communities I’ve found here in Bangkok—people who push me to grow, show up with love, and genuinely want the best for each other.

There’s something so pure about being able to show up exactly as you are and feel completely accepted. No pretending, no proving. Just love.

I could go on forever about how much I adore these people. But maybe this is your sign—to find the ones who cheer for you so loudly, you start believing in yourself even more.
