Had a super small window of time to drop something off at @taohoutdoorgallery It’s Zelda season! So I painted a pixel heart container! In theory, the concept behind painting these heart containers is to place them in locations of communal gathering. Places where your hearts/health meter can be replenished. Thanks so much for providing a public space for the Queen City. It’s a shame I’m hearing it’ll be gone soon. Had a great time. ❤️✨

And VOTE! More info: The Ride, a national bus tour and feature documentary project retracing the historic 1961 Freedom Ride. In 1961, the original thirteen riders departed Washington, D.C. on May 4, bound for New Orleans. They never arrived — violent resistance stopped them along the way. Sixty-five years later in a sprawling interstate epic, a coalition of activists, artists, faith leaders working for voting rights, racial justice and equity will retrace that route — to capture America’s imagination and to mobilize voters for the 2026 midterm election, through the South — to fight the same fight in the very same battleground states. The Ride broadly retraces that path 65 years later, through Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi and completing the journey to New Orleans. Artivist stops: At each stop, artists and muralists join forces with the Art Bus team. Cookouts, church gatherings, HBCU convenings and roller-rink parties await; a piece of the movement is left behind in every community. The Freedom Ride bus caravan will make a stop in the Queen City, Oct 21, 2026 for the Charlotte Allied Stop event - "The Route to Creative Freedom".
