My NYC Pad is now for sale...with a connection to an Aussie/Hollywood Icon!

In 2008, while covering the tragic death of Heath Ledger in NYC, I decided that after 22 years in Los Angeles, I missed my Manhattan lifestyle. I found a glam pied-a-terre in a fabulous building and began my “Bi-coastal” status, jetting back and forth between coasts. My new pad (on arguably the best block in town): an efficient, high-ceilinged studio In a statuesque, full service building on 69th Street and Broadway...steps from Lincoln Center, Riverside and Central Parks. It was the ultimate homecoming, as detailed in my “Dancing Between the Raindrops” trilogy of novels. Everything I’d ever dreamt of!

It’s also a star-studded neighborhood and not uncommon to bump into Seinfeld or Sting while picking up bagels at Zabar’s or seeing Richard Kind or Tina Fey while munching a hot dog at Gray’s Papaya! Observant subway riders will spot Anne Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhaal or Sarah Jessica Parker. A block away you can dine with Lady Gaga’s parents at their wonderful family restaurant. In true New York City fashion, everything is at your fingertips.

I’d’ve stayed forever but when I relocated to NYC full time in 2012, I needed a bigger place for my newlywed life, so I rented out this cherished studio to a colleague who was just as blissful there...he stayed for fourteen years!

WE’RE RUNNING THE NEW YORK CITY MARATHON!!! 🤸🏼💫

This is something we have prayed for and dreamed of for so many years, and to be running with @teamforkids is such a privilege and honor.

Team for Kids is a nonprofit that provides children with opportunities to experience the joy and lifelong benefits of running and physical activity. Many of the kids who participate in these community programs would otherwise not have opportunities to play sports or engage in physical activity. Team for Kids creates strong, supportive communities that help children build confidence, develop healthy habits, and discover what they’re capable of.

I’m so excited to take on the challenge of running 26.2 miles across NYC while raising awareness and funds for a cause that gives kids the opportunity to do just that. Every donation brings me one step closer to my $3,000 fundraising goal and directly supports these incredible kids.

As I’ve been training, I’ve felt the Lord remind me again and again of His words at the Last Supper: “This is my body, broken for you.” I’ve found myself asking what it looks like for our bodies to be broken for others—for Him. What does it look like to push ourselves past what we thought were our limits, to choose the inconvenient and the difficult, and to use our bodies as an opportunity to worship Him and bring Heaven closer to earth.

Training has already been such a challenge, but also such a beautiful season of refinement. I’m so grateful for the ways God has used this experience to stretch me, humble me, and remind me that what we’re capable of can extend far beyond what we think when He is the One sustaining us.

I cannot thank you enough for your prayers, messages, encouragement, and donations as we pursue this dream. I’m so touched by every single sentiment and every person who has chosen to support us. I truly believe there are so many lives that will be impacted through this journey in ways beyond what we could ever know or fathom.
