CARDIFF! Tonight is YOUR night 💋 The final night of the End Times Pop Dungeon tour, and we get to bring it back home to Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 And Wales, you really don’t want to miss this one. One last night of joy, grief, sweat, ridiculousness, music and absolute chaos before we close the Dungeon for this tour. What a journey this has been. We’ve just been to see ‘Effi O Blaenau’ at @chesterpicturehouse in Chester. Absorbing and emotive human film-making with (slate) grit under its fingernails and an unforgettable performance from Leisa Gwenllian. I spent most of my time - ‘92-‘95 - in Blaenau Ffestiniog and have a love for the place and its people. Felt at once removed and very real, and this film feels similarly. I loved it. The performances across the whole cast were top drawer. The cinematography - from the omnipresent mist on the towering heaps of slate to the scenes in the club - were framed, lit and shot with a creative verisimilitude that only highlighted the people and their story. Great to see @elsi_li (I shouted at the screen!) @casiwyn and @tarabandito too. I’m interviewing Siôn Trefor and Ioana Solaru on my show next week about their beautifully judged soundtrack. Never intrudes, always compliments the visuals and the story without spoon serving or making melodramatic / bombastic the emotional power of the performances. @siontrefor @selaruioana Was fantastic to hear @adwaithmusic in there too. Go see this film. And show it to your sons and brothers. Ardderchog!

( full post now in next post ) Alrighty, putting on my big girl pants Ows.  I’ve got my coffee from a fancy Roastery I found, made to a standard I think you’d be happy with, your scarf around my neck giving me a nice cwtch. I Just want to celebrate you, but we’re devastated,I guess thats a celebration in its own way? Mine and the collective ache & love about the place. I didn’t mean for this to become a love letter to you haha! But here we are, processing this the best way we can in our pockets of the planet. I keep listing and thinking & looking at our times together, wanting to share the many photos I have of you with me and with so many of your dear friends & family, & I’m astonishingly aware that thats just a fraction of the Owain shaped world we are all grieving.  Testament to what so many people have said already you were EVERYWHERE and with EVERYONE! Yet you felt so wholly with so many of us. As your bro said there is so much to enjoy, in time, hearing about all these exciting, entertaining, colourful, outrageous parts of your life we all have to share. The cliché of a life filled to the brim. But there was so much more to come. Leave them wanting more hey. you’d roll your eyes at how full of clichés i am right now. Through my personal Owain tinted lense u quite literally danced into my life with ur loud voice and backflips in ’94, I want to ask you exactly when & where, as you’d always remember & berate me for not ;-)  The stand out in Carmarthen Youth Opera from such a young age & Orchestra where we have always agreed you were way better than me at 🎻 , then way Better than me at 🎷. Anything you put your mind to you excelled at. Monopoly gate one of our sibling like rages, will forever be a disagreement, I think we secretly or not so secretly liked that we could get so annoyed, it never being a risk we’d go away.
