What a weekend! It kicked off Friday night at the Curtain Call Ball with Judy Barrasso and Brent Barrierre, where I had the honor of serving on the committee. From there, the Justice for All Ball, and then over to the Fillmore for the Split Second Foundation Show of Love Gala for Mark Raymond, hosted by Ryan and Stephanie Burks. Sunday brought three church visits: United Fellowship with Bishop Brandon Boutin, the Walter Cohen Worship Service and Brunch, My Redeemer Baptist Church, and Access Fellowship. Grateful for every room this weekend!

District 4 Neighbors, One of the things I enjoy most about ESSENCE Festival Weekend is that it's about so much more than concert! It's about relationships, opportunities, and bringing brilliant minds together. Thank you to Ms. Kim Boyle, Esq. and Board Counsel Ashley Heilprin, Esq. for the invitation and for hosting such an incredible networking event. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and a room full of entrepreneurs, judges, attorneys, investors, entertainment professionals, innovators, and leaders who are making an impact in their respective fields. A very special thank you to Lucy Lee for taking such great care of my RSVP. Your warm hospitality ensured that everything was seamless from beginning to end, and I truly appreciate you. This past Sunday night was beyond powerful. What took place at “The Gathering” was more than a dinner. It was a room full of women showing up with honesty, openness, wisdom, and heart. Every woman in that space was seen, heard, felt, and given room to be vulnerable in a way that felt safe and genuine. Women spend so much of life pouring into others, holding things together, carrying, leading, nurturing, building, and watering. But so often, we are not poured back into. The Gathering did just that. Every woman left filled, and some left overflowing. This is community. This is the kind of connection Maroon was created for. And this is only Part I.
