An update from an incredible warrior family that breaks our hearts to read.

All of our love, strength, and prayers are with the Erpelding Family as they take this difficult step in Charly’s journey. Prayers for this next chapter to be filled with endless love, laughter, memories that will forever be cherished, precious time spent with family and friends, and all the smiles.

“Tonight we are posting a different kind of post, one that as parents, we never hoped we would have to write. I can tell you Tara and I have been putting it off for a week, but feel it is time to further highlight Charly’s incredible spirt and bravery. After a routine CT scan last week for the clinical trial in St Louis, we found out that the chemo and experimental drug Charly was taking was not working. Her cancer has progressed significantly in a short timeframe. We, as a family, were faced with the difficult decision as to what to do next, understanding the ultimate decision was Charly’s and hers alone. Without hesitation, and with all the grace in the world, she calmly explained to Tara and Will and me, that she fought as long and hard as she could, and that she was now ready and at peace to stop any further treatment. As always, her comfort in her decision gives us the strength we need as parents to cope with this reality. Charly calmly explained it was time to end the fight, and she is 100% at peace with her decision, no question. Even in the most harrowing times, her strength and courage and internal light are guiding us as a family, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. We started hospice care today at home, which is where she wants to be…surrounded by mom and dad, her brother, her dogs and cat, and all of her loving family and friends. So now we will be soaking up every last second of our beautiful baby girl and following her lead on this next part of her incredible journey. Thank you all for the continued love and support and prayers, they are appreciated beyond measure. You all have meant the world to Charly and to our enternally grateful family.❤️😘”
