“I love to take pictures. I'd run to have them developed immediately, and this was about six, the age of 16 roughly, and then I started to see people within the pictures.” ✨

Spirit photographer Tara Mead (@taraparanormal) explains how her profound gift was rooted in childhood. She grew up in a haunted house in New Orleans, where her father bought the house from a lady whose mother passed away in her room. Tara recalls, “I would feel her poking me and I would be there all by myself." This initial sense grew stronger over time.

Today, her work is a source of intense healing because it provides tangible evidence of survival. She powerfully asserts, "We don't die. We are alive. I have physical proof of that, and when the spirit realm meets the physical realm, it is beautiful.” Her ability to capture the unseen offers undeniable comfort and connection.

“I love to take pictures. I'd run to have them developed immediately... and then I started to see people within the pictures.” – Tara Mead (@taraparanormal)

Tara Mead’s journey as a spirit photographer began at 16, where sometimes the spirits were tiny, sometimes they were large. She was also raised in a strict Catholic home and shaped by early experiences in a haunted house. Her father encouraged her unique abilities, even having her go through decks of cards to name them correctly.

Today, she shares her remarkable gift, capturing the presence of loved ones and offering deep comfort. As she states, "We don't die. We are alive. I have physical proof of that, and when the spirit realm meets the physical realm, it is beautiful.” Her work is an incredible source of healing for those who are hurting.

This week on Awakened Magazine, learn how Tara channels this gift to connect families to the ones they miss most.

For Tara Mead (@taraparanormal), the lens to the unseen world opened at sixteen when ordinary photographs began revealing extraordinary visitors. Growing up in a New Orleans haunted house, she learned early that the world was far more layered than it appeared.

This week on Awakened Magazine, we feature the spirit photographer who captures the presence of loved ones, ancestors, and even animals in her images.

Tara shares how she learned to communicate with spirits and why mirrors in bathrooms are very large, making them an easiest way for spirits to come through as a portal. She can even ask a spirit to be in a photograph and smile, appearing in a way that helps the living recognize them.

Her work goes beyond comfort; it offers physical proof. Tara asserts, “We don’t die—we transition,” and her gift helps families find profound healing. Don't miss this remarkable journey into the world of spirit photography.
