Every LONG once in a while, California will still surprise you. I was recently invovled in a meeting with Orange County Sheriffs Department (OCSD) and they have informed me that California is now allowing the issuing (by the direction of CA DOJ) of non-resident CCWs. This means that if you live in other states you can now legally be certified to carry in the state of California.

Now things are still a little new and things need to be ironed out. For example, non-residents still have to abide by the 10 round magazine rule.

The other one that threw me for a loop as I repeatedly questioned it is that non-residents DO NOT have to abide by what is on the gun roster in California; but state residents do...for now.

The final news is that if you recently moved from CA to another state and would like to still keep your CCW, you DO NOT NEED TO START OVER. You can simply renew your CCW as an out of state resident. There are some pre-requesites (see below)

Now for the CALL TO ACTION: Since CCW’s can now be issued to non-residents, the shooting portion will still need to be done by a range near you. The only requirement is that the instructor has to be an NRA or POST certified instructor.

If you are a certified instructor from another state that would like to talk about partnering to make some $$$ to get your residents a CA CCW, DM me and let’s talk!

Police Officers don't always know the law as they should. That's why we have District Attorney's (DA) offices to ensure that all laws are enforced correctly.

If you ever run into a situation like this one with one of my clients be polite and don't be an a-hole.

Let the officer do whatever he/she feels is right and then go through te proper channels for a formal complaint after...

In this case, none of that needed to happen. Courtesy goes a long way.

Thoughts?

Robots are a great training tool. They can be controlled by remote or using GPS you can set them to move around on their own.

First and foremost I hope that all of you had a wonderful and delightful New Years!

Wanted to start off the year by sharing a short from a little something I put together this year, the whole video will be shared at the end of this series :)

In this part we talk about some more traditional ways of holding a pistol (that no one really uses nowadays) and how it has evolved over time.

This particular one is the "Teacup" Grip.

Please feel free to comment your thoughts, all opinions are welcome.

Some pictures from one of my latest photo and video shoot sessions with @targeteagle and there app that you can download both on the Apple app store as well as Google Play.

It is a fun app that has a built in shot timer, while using the phone's existing technology to track your shots from one evolution, keeping track of this data and track your movement for your review.

The best part about this app is that it is free, feel free to check this app out and their website below:
