Fargo! It wasn’t what I wanted to finish at. I learned a lot and I am going to set goals to get me to the next level! I want to thank my coaches @tvalentin222 and @thecaarv for taking the time out of their lives to help me become better! Thank you all so much!

Now that the dust has settled and people are still asking, I wanted to share my experience with Tarleton wrestling and let everyone know where things stand. 3 years ago I started @tarleton.wrestling, and it’s been one of the best experiences of my life. When I first came to Tarleton, the idea of this school having a wrestling team was foreign and a joke. Since then, we’ve raised millions of dollars with thousands of people supporting our cause all across the country. We gave athletes a chance to keep their dreams alive, and we’ve forever changed not only wrestling in Texas, but the history of this sport as a whole. Through this journey, I’ve met people and made memories that have changed my life forever. I had the opportunity to compete at a national tournament, after being a kid who never even competed at state before this program. I had the opportunity to lead a bible study, and share the gospel with wrestlers. I’ve learned what it means to lead, believe, and chase dreams even when they feel impossible. My life has been changed, and so has the life of everybody who has been involved. We have done so much good through this team, and that’s not stopping any time soon. We still have a team led by one of the best coaches in the country, we still have athletes competing, and we still have people supporting us all across the United States. I’m grateful for my time here, and excited to see what the future holds. The vision might have changed, but this dream is still alive.

With the recent news about Tarleton State University’s wrestling program I feel called to share my personal experiences and perspective over the past two years. I have been at Tarleton State wrestling since 2024 when it was first said that we were going D-1. I have experienced every news and drama that has come out about this program. The first time I wrestled here was before we even had a facility and were starting from the ground up. In these two years, Coach Leeth and Coach Dalton have done the impossible to get us to where we are today. From the time, energy, and money that have been poured in, our coaches have been absolutely incredible. The culture was the best I’ve been apart of, guys from world team members, D-1 transfers, multiple time state champions, the vision was clear. We trained and competed as D-1 wrestlers, having D-1 tournaments, D-1 duals and even had a handful of D-1 schools wanting to dual us this upcoming year. All without any support from administrators. We stayed dedicated even though there was no scholarships, NIL, school funding, etc. Every wrestler that has been at this school has taken a significant risk on pursuing a vision that we had been told by President Hurley was going to happen. We had received an invite from the PAC-12, but our administration decided to drag their feet. The roof of the brand new EECU Arena was funded by our leading donor as well as multiple donations to other organizations and teams on campus such as a 60,000$ donation to the Tarelton State Rodeo team. President Hurley received multiple messages from our donor and did not respond to them. I feel this is not the appropriate response for someone who has helped so much! The build to be D-1 has been a fight that this whole team has been in for 2 years but it seems that the people against us are our own administrators. I feel it is very necessary for President Hurley to address all the comments he has made. Beyond the fact that our planned future for this team is over, losing some of my best friends, some amazing coach’s, and the possibility of competing D-1 in Texas. We have also been lied to and back stabbed for our efforts. Thank you to the Tarleton supporters!
