About our Spurs Jackals 2026.03.05-03.08 In Frost Bank Center 🐺🥁🩷🧡🩵🩶🤍🖤

🐺 From March 5–8, 2026, I was in San Antonio and went to three straight Spurs games at Frost Bank Center. I also got to see the Jackals , bringing their energy and support to the Spurs.

They’re constantly on their feet—singing, chanting, banging drums, and getting the fans around them involved in the action.

I absolutely loved the way they took the lead in heating up the atmosphere and making the energy in the arena even more contagious! 🔥

Especially when a lot of the fans in the arena might be more introverted or shy I-types, that’s when you REALLY need these super passionate people to get everyone involved. 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻

The Jackals bring a completely different style of fan support to the arena. They make it feel like fans aren’t just sitting in their seats watching the game—they can actually become part of the home crowd and add their own voice to the atmosphere. 🖤🤍

O LE o Le O LE o Le O Le ~~~

GO SPURS! GO SPURS! 🖤🤍🏀🔥

And Today is @spursjackals Auditions Day good Luck everyone! GO spurs Go !

Happy Birthday to the Greatest International Spurs Fan, Taro Kotani! 🏀🖤🤍

Somewhere along the way, Taro stopped being “that amazing Spurs fan who comes all the way from Tokyo.”

He simply became family.

I’ve known Taro for many years now, and one of my favorite things about him is that his love for the Spurs has never been complicated. It is pure. It is joyful. It is loyal. And it is absolutely contagious.

Think about the remarkable journey: A kid growing up more than 6,000 miles away in Tokyo discovers David Robinson and the San Antonio Spurs.

He falls in love with the Silver & Black. He starts making pilgrimages to San Antonio. One trip becomes another, and another, and eventually more than 40 journeys across the Pacific.

Championships. Rebuilding years. Home games. Road games. Great victories. Painful losses.
Taro keeps showing up.

That’s what love does.

And San Antonio noticed.

Over the years, I’ve watched players, coaches, broadcasters, arena employees and Spurs fans embrace Taro. Not as some curiosity from Japan, but as one of our own.

Because he is.

These photos span a lot of years, a lot of Spurs basketball, a few different hairstyles on my part 😂, and a friendship I treasure.

Sports sometimes get dismissed as merely entertainment. But Taro reminds me why they can mean so much more.

A basketball team became a bridge.
A bridge between Tokyo and San Antonio.

Between different cultures and different languages.
Between strangers who eventually became friends.

All because a young man in Japan once watched The Admiral play basketball and thought:

That’s my team.

And all these years later, we can say right back to him:

Taro, these are your people. This is your city. You are part of our family.

Happy Birthday, my friend.

May there be many more trips across the Pacific, many more Spurs games, many more victories to celebrate and, with Wemby leading the way, perhaps another parade or twelve in our future. 😄🏆

From San Antonio to Tokyo, with love:

Happy Birthday, Taro Kotani.

GO SPURS GO! 🖤🤍🏀

A ✨June✨ to remember in San Antonio 🖤

This month was honestly a little crazy. Got to go to NBA Finals when I didn’t have a ticket that day thanks to a friend 🥲 Met @aircorg , won a bunch of free things like Spurs jersey, my luck streak been on fire, so many opportunities opened up, got to experience TX Fashion Week, got to eat lots of amazing food around town, made lots of memories with my amazing friends, & so much more I wish I could add 50 more pictures 😭 So blessed, so grateful 🫶🏼

At the end of the 24-25 season the @spurs were under .500, Victor was out with a blood clot, Fox was getting finger surgery, and we ended the season with a fan appreciation game and no post season run. Even despite all of this you could feel in the air and see in magic moments on the court that something special was building here. I knew this season would be special and I decided in July of 2025 that I was going to savor every moment of this run. Summer league, preseason games, 100s level, 200s level, courtside experience, the @spursjackals inaugural season, clinching the playoffs, attending the first playoff game of my life, honking, watch parties, and the t-shirt line outside of Academy, I did it all. I believe in this team whole heartedly and I’m so proud of where we are. This is only the beginning. Spurs in 6 🖤🩶❤️‍🔥

If you're a Spurs fan on social media, you've seen the nuns, the corgi and probably Taro Kotani, too.

The 45-year-old Spurs fan from Tokyo opened up to MySA about why David Robinson got him into the fandom and what keeps him coming back to the city after decades.
