Two anti-immigration Brits. Stranded at sea. Their survival depends on the very people they set out to reject. We’re thrilled to announce that The Future Frames is representing the Oscar and BAFTA qualified, multi-award-winning short Rule, Britannia for distribution. 🎬 At a time when immigration, nationalism and small-boat crossings continue to divide Britain, this thought-provoking film turns a familiar narrative on its head. Shot for real at sea, it combines the tension of a survival thriller with an unflinching exploration of prejudice, national identity and our shared humanity. No easy answers. Plenty to talk about. Made in partnership with Choose Love and recognised at festivals internationally, this is a film we’re proud to help bring to wider audiences. 📍 Catch it next on the big screen at London Breeze Film Festival on 22 October. #RuleBritannia #TheFutureFrames #ChooseLove #LondonBreezeFilmFestival #ShortFilm

When Rule, Britannia was written just over two years ago, the idea of vigilantes trying to stop refugee boats or harm refugees felt like an extreme fictional scenario which we created as a warning as to where the politics division could take us. Two years later, that scenario has happened and very publicly, while the gaps between us seem wider and balanced conversations are even rarer than they were. That’s why storytelling matters. This film does not claim to have any answers. We simply set out to ask questions, to explore where we might be heading and to look at the people, motives and contradictions behind the headlines.
