One thing is certain: in 13 years of doing this thing, I know .001% of what’s actually been catalyzed in our cauldron.

As we gear up to dance in our 14th year this Thursday April 9, let’s share some stories!!

I want to hear about the moments you remember most & the dance floor connections that changed everything ⚡️

I’ll start!

In 2019 I showed up at @houseofyesnyc 20 minutes after the most painful breakup moment of my life 😱 I called on some friends (all regulars on our dance floor) and they showed up early to hold me.

I didnt know how I was gonna get thru that set, but @mikaal_bates @billy_ddd @theremustbemorelight @thatalliemason @oveous (and definitely others I’m forgetting) made sure I knew I was loved & it turned out to be one of the wildest, most explosive nights we’d ever had 🔥

I’ve been wanting to have this conversation with exactly these people for a while now!

It’s been almost two decades since my world got rocked by conscious dance for the first time. From that very first class, I knew I’d found home.

But I was also coming from a deep love of electronic dance music, DJ culture and the craft of shaping dance floors through sound.

So every time I stepped into a conscious dance space, I wondered why more teachers weren’t fully mixing — using the tools that could take the music to a whole new level.

The question of how these two worlds intersect and support each other has shaped everything I’ve done since.

And I’m so excited to gather with dear colleagues who bridge these worlds beautifully — weaving real technical DJ skill with grounded facilitation every time they hold a dance floor.

Next Sunday, March 15, we’re coming together online for a public conversation about what happens when our musical mastery rises to meet the level of facilitation we’ve worked so hard to cultivate.

We’ll explore how DJ skill shapes the depth, safety, and emotional arc of the dance floor — and why this conversation is becoming increasingly important in conscious dance culture.

This conversation hasn’t really been held publicly before.

It’s been TEN YEARS since our last deep house yoga 🤯🔥🪩 ~~~ way too long for how delicious this kind of sonic-somatic curation feels.

Reuniting with brilliant @allybogard this Saturday from 4-6pm at @samadhi.nyc for a deep revival of the weird, wild juicy dancey flowy sweaty goodness we love.
