POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some authors really do need to get a grip.

My finished copies of A Measure of Britain have arrived, and as you can see, I’ve handled the occasion with the professionalism and restraint you’d expect from a second-time author.

Available to pre-order now. Link in bio.

Fame has gone to my head. And frankly, I don’t think anyone is surprised.

My new book, A Measure of Britain, has made it into the pages of Metro, page 4 to be precise, complete with its very own advert, which is a pretty surreal moment.

This is entirely thanks to the incredibly supportive team @metro.co.uk @metronewspaper who have gone above and beyond to support me and A Measure of Britain. @claiester @jomazenko @courtneypochin and of course, @tweetiegentile, you are honestly the best team and the loveliest people.

A Measure of Britain is a love letter to Britain, told through the cocktails we love, and it’s out on 5th November, published by @littlebrownbookgroup_uk - another fantastic team I get to work with.

You can pre-order via the link in my bio. Or scan the QR code if you’ve managed to get your hands on today’s Metro, otherwise it’s going on my stories. Thank you!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a public image to maintain….

If you love Sangria, you’ll adore this red wine and Coca-cola cocktail.

You may well have tried it while you were in Spain, or Croatia for that matter. The Calimocho (Kalimotxo) was invented in Spain in the 1970’s although it’s been around longer than that.

Have you tried it? If not, would you?

Have a read of my column where I tell you how to make it and why it works.

Put WHAT in my red wine?

Anyone ever had a Calimocho (Kalimotxo) while they were in Spain?

Red wine and Coca-Cola doesn’t sound like the most refreshing drink on Earth, but you have to try it.

Here’s how I made mine, and you can read all about its history and why it works in Saturday’s Drink Up column in @metro.co.uk

Yesterday, I hosted three sold-out shows at Taste of London for the second year. I’m such a massive fan of the event, it has such a festival-like buzz to it whilst having some off the best names in food and drink at your disposal.

Plus, they have pretty good ‘talent’, which is what I described myself as when approaching the entrance gate, where the woman looked at me and said ‘you what?’. I’m never describing myself as talent again. Ok, that’s a lie.

Anyway, thanks to @marksandspencer and @dparke_ for sponsoring the three rosés I presented. My theme was ‘the rosé rainbow’, looking at the breadth of colours available in rosé wines and why we shouldn’t only be going forth super pale stuff. M&S have some absolute crackers.

🍷 English Lily Rosé, £12
🍷 Lisboa Bonita Rosé £8
🍷 Etna Rosato £14

Super interesting that people generally associate pale with sophisticated and dry, and darker with sweet and uncouth. Not the case, in fact darker styles can be even more complex and more food friendly.

Thanks to @tasteoflondon for having me again, I really hope to return next year:

Our World Cup podcast pilgrimage starts next week with @whistleblowerspod & @wickes

Veteran Fleet St football man @ianladymanfootball is on the move as always covering some ground. And as you might expect, @clattenburg_mark is in Los Angeles moonwalking about in fancy trainers.

The Panini Stickers are meant to be re-enactments of previous players - gently inspired by their efforts. But if you’ve seen any of our previous promo, the acting leaves a lot to be desired. Messi and Gordon Strachan ‘86 for me.

Double episodes every week throughout the tournament wherever you get your pods… or link in bio if that’s yer thing.
