candids of winbourne, circa 2026

i spent some time on winbourne ave photographing the old businesses. hair salons, churches, murals, car shops, gas stations. it reminded me of old baton rouge.

these streets feel like remnants of the jim crow south, places that are now written off as “ghettos” and “hoods.” but i kept imagining how much life must’ve been here. kids growing up around their parents’ businesses, eventually taking them over, then doing the same for their own kids. people getting their hair done, fixing their cars, going to church, keeping money and life within the community.

it makes me miss a time i never really experienced. a completely different world from atlanta, but there’s something familiar about the way black community shaped everyday life here.

Feeling so blessed and grateful for wrapping my first feature film with my brother @goaheadgreg 👑 - We did it Greg G!!!

The past two weeks were some of the hardest and most rewarding days I’ve ever experienced in my career. It was an honor to collaborate with Greg G, @directedbyernst and my brother @azziescott & the rest of our amazing team & crew! 🫡

So proud of what we were able to pull off here in San Antonio on this ambitious indie feature. It only happened because of the incredible creatives who gave everything to this project — thank you all. 🙏

Huge love to my amazing wife @kvelona for holding it down at home while I chased this dream. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Friends for life. Magic in the can. 🎥🔥

On to post. 🚀 - Much love ❤️
