Happy Birthday, @tatebrusa ! 🩷 Thank you for creating such incredible music, and thank you for always being so kind to me. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me over the years. I feel so blessed that what started as me being a fan has turned into a genuine friendship where I truly feel like part of the family. I’m so thankful that The Voice led me to your music. I’m beyond proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and the new album has been on repeat! I can’t wait to see what’s next for you. I hope you had the happiest birthday because you deserve nothing but the best, and please come back and play a show in NYC soon! Love always, your #1 fan, Samantha 🩷

Dear Mom (part 1)

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I started going through old photos. I realized, that thanks to you, I've only really ever had to work at three different jobs in my life. I worked with @church1976 at a flower shop for about a week in high school (probably the worst employee that they ever had). I was in a band (that's a job right?) and then I started teaching guitar when I was ninteen. It's easy to lose track of things when you just put your head down and grind, but I realized last night that between the studio I worked at before and then starting Rock U in 2009, my teachers and I have taught thousands of others to play.

I don't ever remember asking to play guitar. You just picked me up from school one day and said "I've got something I want you to try." Since then, it's become who I am. I'm a musician. I guess Mom's just know. Thank you for striking the match that started this fire 🤍

Because of you I have made thousands of connections over the years to people that have become my second family. Staci jokes with me that everywhere we go, I run into people I know. Whether it's in St George, Bear Lake, California, Europe, on planes to who knows where and even a tiny little gas station in the middle of the desert, I run into people I'm close with that I've taught to play music. This is all thanks to you. Thank you for giving me the gift of music, but really what you gave me, is the gift of thousands of people to love, cheer for and rock this life with! Austin McCulloch even got engaged here because of what Rock U has meant to him.

Thank you Mom 🤍 @lindabarney

Over the holiday season, I will be posting a ton of pictures of the students and teachers past and present that have made Rock U their #HomeAwayFromHome
