Ever wondered what’s actually happening when the needle hits your skin?

That buzzing tattoo machine isn’t just making noise — it’s doing some serious precision work.

The machine rapidly moves the needle up and down, creating tiny punctures in the skin and depositing ink into the dermis layer.

Sounds intense? It is.
Looks cool? Absolutely.

Every line, shade and detail comes down to the artist controlling the machine with precision, consistency and a whole lot of skill.

That’s the craft behind the ink.

One year of Understairs Ink. 🖤

Three weeks ago, we celebrated one year of Understairs Ink — and what a year it’s been.

From incredible clients to unforgettable pieces, we’ve loved every minute of building our studio and creating alongside some seriously talented artists.

To everyone who has trusted us with their skin, supported the studio and been part of the journey — thank you.

Here’s to many more years of Understairs Ink, bigger ideas, bold designs and plenty more incredible work.

Still riding the high from an incredible day. 🖤

A couple of weeks ago, we partnered with What Were You Wearing for our fundraiser flash day, bringing people together through art, community and a cause that matters.

Here are just a few of the flash pieces our artists created on the day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came through, got inked, donated and supported the day. We couldn’t have done it without you.
